Re: Introducing the “Dark Fury” project – 400rwhp ATS 2.3L 5SFE GTX3076

So you're a recent convert to the Turbo MR2's - isn't that going backwards!? Don't take me wrong I love MR2's (hence all the time/work I've invested in mine), but I always intended to move to a Supra once my work with my MR2 was done  Yeah there are a lot of ex-MR2 owners who move on to Su...

Re: Introducing the “Dark Fury” project – 400rwhp ATS 2.3L 5SFE GTX3076

Thanks Nic, makes sense. I presently have a 4" K&N which isn't sealed from the engine bay at all.. My background is in modifying Supras, I'm a recent convert to the Turbo MR2's. As such I'm not sure at what point the stock 3SGTE airbox would start to become a restriction but it looks like ...

Re: Introducing the “Dark Fury” project – 400rwhp ATS 2.3L 5SFE GTX3076

Any pics of the finished engine bay? Turbo blanket? Manifold and downpipe coated/wrapped? Airfilter sealed from the engine bay? Intercooler ducted? I haven't got any pics unfortunately. It took me a year getting the current pics up! I'm not sure about the turbo blanket and the Airfilter isn't seale...

Re: Introducing the “Dark Fury” project – 400rwhp ATS 2.3L 5SFE GTX3076

what about a water / meth kit to drop the temps? Great suggestion.. Nathan and Ryan also mentioned this. I felt like that this was the next step after installing a more permanent cooling solution. There is no shying away from my Greddy IC just not cutting it! The issue with these projects is that t...

Cheers bud. If I were to upgrade I think it would certainly be the chargecooler root.

Any thoughts on the Rogue CC setup?

Re: Introducing the “Dark Fury” project – 400rwhp ATS 2.3L 5SFE GTX3076

Are there any thoughts on the extent to which cooling limits power figures? I'm not sure whether I should upgrade to a Rogue Chargecooler or similar. Don't really want to hack into my boot..

Re: Introducing the “Dark Fury” project – 400rwhp ATS 2.3L 5SFE GTX3076

Nice build. Why not go with the late 5s block though? Thanks for the feedback. After speaking with ATS, we decided that I wasn't going to see any benefit going with the late 5S for the power goals / usage I had in mind. $400 was better spent toward the turbo! Nice car and a 2.3L ATS stroker too! Ho...

Re: Introducing the “Dark Fury” project – 400rwhp ATS 2.3L 5SFE GTX3076

Cheers bud! I chose to build on the original MR2 style as I like the natural lines of the car.. I'm not sure how much power I'm going to get tbh. ATS said that they expected more power on current specs and Ryan noted that it was just too hot - significantly affecting the ignition timing.. Would like...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Nur Spec R alternative - advice pls

I've been working on an MR2 project for a while - almost there. Currently running 390rwhp but the nur spec r exhaust is just far too loud now.. its ridiculous and my neighbours are going to call the police on me one of these days.. Any ideas what exhaust suits/sounds good on the MR2 without breaking...

[Mk2] [Generic] Pics of 60mm 3 pod A pillar anyone?

Hi there,

I want to buy three 60mm gauges but am struggling where to mount.

Has anyone got pics of a triple A pillar (maybe Eddies) or centre dash mount for these size gauges?

Cheers

Re: Are these wheels too big on coilovers?

Thanks vampire.

I've spoken to a few people and and have been receiving mixed advice - some say it will be fine and others say it won't..

Cautious because I won't be able to return the wheels if I find they are indeed too big - I love the look of these wheels though!

Are these wheels too big on coilovers?

As title suggests.

I have a UK Spec MR2 Mk2 NA which has had a turbo conversion and will be running 500bhp

Looking for wheels. Will these be too big?

Specs:
BC Racing Coilovers

Wheel:
18" 8.5J et35 (Front)
18" 9.5J et35 (Rear)

Cheers
