Re: road springs n/a 1994 rev 3

The cheaper / quicker way to lower the car is to just change the springs. The kits avialable I've noticed usually drop the car by about 40mm max which is why I mentioned coilovers. The next option is to fit uprated struts with the springs, but this again only gives a standard drop of about 40mm max....

Re: road springs n/a 1994 rev 3

Hi, With me not being fully clued up on all things suspension, from what I've read before in previous posts is a 50+mm drop a bit much for just a spring change? Is there any chance you've got coilovers? :-k I can't really imagine it being a full days work to change springs, I managed to replace my r...

Re: road springs n/a 1994 rev 3

Hola, I've been watching this post for a bit mainly from the other angle that I have a '91 UK n/a that I'd like to drop. We have some speed bumps around us but I avoid them anyway because most of the roads they're on are pants.! So, as far as I'm aware my springs are in perfect working order, I'm ha...

Re: re-attaching front under trays mk2 rev3

Having had my undertrays off a few times I'm pretty sure there are some mounting holes in the cross member at the front of the car. The first time I tried to get mine off the bolts had seized and they snapped..!! :( I drilled them out and re tapped the holes and they're now screwed in with packings ...

Re: Aerial

Hey, If it's the toothed coil in the mast itself which has snapped then this can be replaced seperately from the motor unit - about the £30 mark from Mr.T IIRC? It can done with the motor in situ. On mine it was the small double ended plastic cog that sits between the metal worm from the motor and t...

I have a copy of the 160 and 110 dials in TIFF format from the old IMOC site.

I've tried sending the 160's to you Matt but your Hotmail is over the limit.!

PM me an email address and I'll get 'em on their merry way.!

Cheers

Stephen

P.S. Just sent the 110's to Hurstie

Hey Hugo, I've been looking into this too but have never gotten around to doing it.! eBay seems a pretty good place to get his sort of thing from - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15329&item=7961681873&rd=1 There's a few units out there, then it's just a case of ...

Offside Pop Up Headlight Out Of Alignment

Hola All, When my headlights are retracted the offside unit does not sit centrally in it's well. There is a distinct difference around the edges between the two units. It's nothing major but as I'm enjoying fixing the niggling things that are wrong with my beloved '2 I'd like to adjust this. It look...

Re: A Grinding And Groaning Aerial.......

I've found some manufatures of gears and the like but none of them match the original in any way eg - number of teeth, overall diameter, bore size etc?

Any ideas where you'd find a suitable replcement?

Cheers

Re: Replacing dash bulb - instrument cluster...

Hey, I think all '2s are pretty much the same, on my '91 N/A I have to strip a fair bit out to get the cluster out..!! Remove the gear knob. Remove the gaiter and plastic surround. Remove the ashtray. Remove the 2 screws you can now see. Remove the 2 screws from under the cluster area - one under th...
