Re: [Mk2] [NA] Frozen hand brake and door lock

The rubber boot at the end of the handbreak cable deteriorates/breaks and lets moisture get in to the cable whichg then freezes. New cable comes with new rubber boot - unfortunatley I don't believe you can just buy the boots, or easily fit new ones as they are fitted during the manufacturing proces...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Frozen hand brake and door lock

I've same problem at the mo, so I will probably just not use it in the freezing weather.

Probably a silly question - but if the old cable can freeze, why would a new cable not also freeze ??

Re: Great price on pistons/rods - whats the catch ?

I only noticed their ebay shop have the same price as their online store. I had assumed that the ebay price would be cheaper. Although, eBay lets you make an offer. So, if I can save $20-30 off pistons androds and $10 here and there on acl race bearings, head gasket, ARP studs etc, I'd save another ...

Re: Great price on pistons/rods - whats the catch ?

Actually, a fair few more deals around the 500-550 euros + shipping. This is from Real Street Performance - 100% feedback :) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wiseco-Pistons-Eagle-Rods-Toyota-3SGTE-MR2-Celica-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5acf5b1648QQitemZ390025909832QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fA...

Great price on pistons/rods - whats the catch ?

Okay, aside from the seller having 98.3% feedback, why are they so cheap ? Even with shipping and import duty, they are still very cheap ?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Eagle-Rods-Wiseco-Pistons-3S-3SGTE-MR2-Turbo-Celica-GT4-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem563a072ba7QQitemZ370340735911QQptZMotorsQ5fCa...

Any tips on removing/replacing rev3 fuel rail ?

Okay, I had my fuel rail out a few weeks back and put in SARD 800s and put it back in. Now, its not idling right and think I have an air leak. So, I have to take it out again and re-fit and recheck etc But, the first time, it seemed like it was wiggle, wiggle and pot luck if it came out or not. Is t...

Re: Hubcentric spacers fitted, just in having the tyres done :-)

Would you have the link to the eBay spacers ?

The ones I found so far on eBay were 60 euros for the spacers and 60 euros for the postage. I don't like having to pay postage which is as much as the item itself :(

Re: [Mk2] [NA] how easy/hard is it to fit a air/fuel ratio gauge?

I was happily surprised when I found my downpipe already had a spare bung :) So, just wired up my Zeitronix gauge and sensor.

If you have the spare bung and you're okay with 12v wiring, then its an easy DIY job.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Cheaper datalogit alternative ...

Sorry for not getting back. Clutch died and so, hope to get one and have the car running again in about two weeks.

All I can say so far is shipment was quick, well packaged, unit robust.

Will report back as soon as I am back on the road.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] injector o-ring help ?

23291‑75010 x8 these are the eight insulators for the injectors 23291‑88480 x4 these are the insulators for the fuel rail (I'm fairly sure) 90301‑14006 x4 o-ring might be the big or the small 90301‑17007 x4 other o-rings This was much easier before Toyota too...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help - erratic idle :(

Quandry dropped down Sat morning and he listened around engine bay with a bit of silicone hose :)

Anyway, seems like I've an injector not seated/sealed properly - so, I have an air leak.

Have to dig up part numbers to order new o-rings and re-fit.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] injector o-ring help ?

Hi mate I get what you are saying by what you are describing but I can't match them up with what I see on the diagram. I can only see 2 injectors and 2 o-rings per injector on the diagram. But, when I click on the 23291, it brings up 8x insulators and 4x insulators. Does it just not show the other 4...

[Mk2] [Turbo] injector o-ring help ?

I fitted SARD 800s and I've a slight air leak. I hadn't replaced the o-rings but I have to now. Anyway, I wanted to order them but am not sure if I got the part numbers right. I checked http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1996_TOYOTA_MR2_SW20-AJMZZ_2211.html 23291-75010 x8 $0.93 23291-88480 x4 $7.75 90...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Help - erratic idle :(

About a week ago, we installed SARD 800s and the ST205 Core in my rev3 turbo. So, the Core was in but no water, pump not wired in. We started the car up and it started fine (had already put settings for the 800s in the PFC). Idle was up near 1500+rm for a few min and then it levelled off and idled a...
