Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] silicone on cam cover gasket ?
Cheers - i have the torque wrench at the ready and when i get the RTV silicone, i will double check torque settings on the BGB. Yesterday, i actually took off my St205CC core so that i might be able to see where the leak was. And i turned the engine on and watched. Then, i see little drops just &quo...

[Mk2] [Turbo] silicone on cam cover gasket ?
I've an oil leak - oil collecting on exhaust manifold and gets quite smokey when it warms up ! So, want to eliminate the rocker cover gasket. The bolts weren't very tight. Anyway, gasket arrived but i had been recommended to use RTV silicone sealant - good for up to 400 degrees celsius. Local motor ...

Re: Personalising my SW20 Spider
The Spider looks small and the front looks pointy and narrow. So, I wasn't particularly after the Border front. What i wanted was a bit more width. The Holy Lip would help a bit but don't think it would give me the width i was after. What i would like is a Toms front. Stock, factory look but bit wid...

Personalising my SW20 Spider
It started life as this http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p242/fastmr2/MR2/Spider/Spider_FTQ1.jpg And after Greddy sides, Border front, Border hood, colour coding side mouldings, removing JDM orange repeaters, 17" rims, leather/alacantra interior, 3rd gen turbo swap, she now looks like this .....

here is an early picture of the underside of the bonnet you can see the vents are positioned between the front of the bonnet and close to the shut line if the frunk Image Replaced With URL For Quote http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/kayjay0_7/IMG_2198-1.jpg the plastic trim on mine remained ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Border vented bonnet + rain ??
the vent on a border bonnet is positioned over the plastic trim in the frunk made my own bonnet a while back, unfortunately it has now started to crack due to different expansion rates between fibreglass and metal, have been tempted to get it vinyl wrapped to hide that http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Border vented bonnet + rain ??
in theory, it shouldn't be that hard of a kit to fabricate ? famous last words !! I'm still hoping the water will spill over the stock rad location. And that if i can get the rad relocated, it will be even more efficient for the airflow. Am assuming that i won't have to use hood pins because mine wi...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Border vented bonnet + rain ??
Isn't it supposed be used in conjunction with the Border radiator relocation kit so that water runs through the vent over the radiator. yes, it is aimed to use with the rad relocation kit. but i thought the kit was to improve the airflow a lot of people have the vented hood and am guessing very few...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Border vented bonnet + rain ??
I have to Google a pic of the Frunk - i can't picture it and i haven't got my car as its at the place of the guy who is going to make it for me. I found one ! The rad is in front of the rubber strip. And surely the bonnet closes right down on the rubber strip. So, i can't visualise how there is room...

[Mk2] [Generic] Border vented bonnet + rain ??
Can anyone tell me what happens when it rains heavy and you have a Border vented bonnet ? Or even better, if they have pics of where / how the water drains ? I assume the water doesn't just go into where the spare wheel goes and then you open the bung and let it out ? that'd be okay for a few drops ...

Any difference in bonnets ?
Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any differences in the bonnets between a rev1 and a rev3 ? Am getting a guy to build me a Border vented hood and he can pick up a rev1 bonnet from his local scrapyard. The guy is over here in Ireland and he building a MR2 based Murcielago. I know kits aren...

Very nice upgrades planned - and deserved in a 10th Anniversary model  Can I ask why you did not go with aftermarket cams ? Are you doing the engine build yourself ? I've a ST205CC on mine at the mo - but am planning to change to the below setup - just prefer access to / view of engine. Obviou...
