Re: Fitting Hands Free Kit - A-Pillar Trim Removal
Ren0W, I was going to put it there but when I imagined it (and now have seen your picture) I decided I was not that keen. I think I will either put it where you put your mic or out of the way between the fog light switches and the air vent.

Re: Fitting Hands Free Kit - A-Pillar Trim Removal
Thanks guys. I think I like the top of the steering column idea as it would suit the Parrot CK3100 as it is quite small.

Fitting Hands Free Kit - A-Pillar Trim Removal
After twelve years have just changed my Rev 1 car for a Rev 3 and while I am fitting the CD player I might as well fit a Parrot hands free kit. I will need to get the mic upto the interior light area so my simple question is can anyone tell me how to remove the A-pillar trims so I don't pull in the ...

Re: Replacing original ICE in 91 UK MR2
My 'new' £100 Sony head unit has built amplifier (4x45W). I tried the autoleads adapter and it was crap and a waste of money. In the end I ran some wires from the head unit to the amp under the passenger seatbelt and wired upto the existing speakers there (thus bypassing the amp but retaining all or...

Re: Upcoming MOT
Check for corrosion where the rear tie bar support joins the body underneath, in front of the rear wheels just about where the firewall is. Also check for corrosion underneath the front where the antti-roll bar connects to the body.

Re: Replacing the standard head unit on a Mk2 Import
My new head unit did not have pre amp outputs (amp is built in) and the autolead adapters did not quite do the job for me. In the end I ran some wires from the head unit to the factory amp to connect to the speakers at that point by-passing the amp entirely (but retaining the sub). Sound was much be...

Re: Not your usual aerial problem?
Joncus, I replied to your email before I checked here. See how what I said compares with how yours is now connected. Perhaps I can update my doc. Two most common resons mast only goes part way up are: Sticky mast and stripped teeth from the nylon rod insert. First try aplications of PlusGas or WD40 ...

Re: Want To Change Factory Fit Sony Head Unit
The MR2 uses external amplifiers and sub-woofer amplifiers and so the installation of a new head unit needs a little more thought than for most cars. You need to provide a little more info. What is the year and model of your car. Do you just want to swap the factory unit for a single cd-receiver or ...

Re: New head unit trouble
It sounds to me like your external amp/s are not getting the activation signal, perhaps you new head unit is not designed to go with external amps. If your new unit has amplified outputs then you can get adapters to reduce the signal to a level suitable for the amps. I tried that and found it was sh...

Check First!
First thing I would do is check that you aerial installation has not gone on the blink. Borrow another radio and plug your aerial in to check that it gets better reception or plug in another aerial into your existing radio to see if that makes a difference.

MR2 Aerial - All you need to know.
Joncus, Do not despair. This is quite normal and I have documented this and much more about the aerial system in a pdf. This was hosted on the old site so when I get home I will did it out and upload it to my own site and post the link. Basically you need to make a simple wiring mod as the aerial re...
