Re: [All] [Generic] Steering wheel buttons

I don't think it'd be safe because as you said, its not for the horn. Unless you can find a way of hiding all the wires they will then be all over the place when you're turning the wheel, they could get caught in the indicator stalks, light stalk, the tilt lever, all sorts ... Just looking at the wo...

Re: [All] [Generic] Steering wheel buttons

What are you going to do, start buttons or NOS? :thumleft:

I don't know then - in that case you might actually have wires hanging out :( won't look pretty and certainly won't be safe.

Re: [All] [Generic] Steering wheel buttons

Your steering wheel has a metal ring at the base which a wire is connected to, it comes up the inside of the steering wheel and connects to the horn pad. It doesn't get tangled when the wheel turns because each point is fixed - one to the ring and one to the pad. It all stays in place. So all you no...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Simple glovebox mod that makes me a lot happier

Nah that'd be ok, I've got a hole in the back of it where I had the leads to run to the PS2, so I don't think another one's going to make much difference.

Just need to find a miniature one, will have a browse on Maplins.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Simple glovebox mod that makes me a lot happier

You could add a mercury type switch and then it'll only come on when you open the box. Mike Or just put a plunger switch in the glovebox to cut the power, open to complete the circuit = light on when its wired to the ciggy lighter power - not the bulb :thumleft: We have a winner! I'll do ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Simple glovebox mod that makes me a lot happier

Yeah taking it from the ashtray probably would have been easier - it comes on with the lights, and thats basically all you need for a power source.

Maybe change it at the weekend.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Simple glovebox mod that makes me a lot happier

Well yeah, but when I put my Speedhut dials in I found it a pain in the ar$e to get the instrument cluster out, plus the wiring on them isn't very long so now they're in place it'd be hard to take the instruments out to wire the glovebox to them. I figured you usually have to stop anyway to look in ...

[Mk2] [NA] Simple glovebox mod that makes me a lot happier

The only thing that bugs me about the interior on MR2s is there's no light in the glove box ... Fumbling around there in the dark and the interior light just doesn't illuminate that far. So today I put one in. A strip of 9 micro LEDs from Maplins costing £4.17, a bit of wire to extend it to the igni...

A444 Blue Veilside kitted T-bar metallic blue

Saw you on the A444 today on the Ricoh stretch of the 444 on a mad screaming dash back to work after going to Toyota Listers Nuneaton ... Looked very nice with its big chrome wheels, got grins off the driver and his missus, then spotted you again Foleshill Road but a cop car got between us and lost ...

Anything in the car moving and setting off the sensors? ie Magic Tree moving if a wind comes through the vents?

Anything draining the battery to cause a noticable drop in power?

[Mk2] [Generic] Bally headlight - I can't get it up ...

For a week now it's been deciding to either not go up, or it'll go up and not go down. Or, if I flash someone, it'll not go up, then when the other one has gone down, it'll pop up and then go down, like the bloody car's winking. I dread going out when its getting dark as I have to manually twiddle t...

Re: Ripped off by importglimited - £30

Bad news there and I nearly got caught out myself by him. I wanted his Rev 6 lights but the price seemed too good to be true that we agreed on via PM. He didn't persue me to pay so I let it go and heard later from other members that he had offered them for sale to them as well at different prices. I...
