Hi folks, Got a ripped CV gaitor and my cars been clicking the last day real bad. Been told its probably going to need a new CV and/or driveshaft so just wondering if this is the same as the UK rev 3+ or if its a different part being a 1994 rev3 turbo. If its different any ideas where I can get one ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev3: Where best to get a new sump and gasket kit?

Old ones all porous and manky, plus the drops on the driveway are a bit of a dead giveaway :D

Many thanks,

Thanks!

Mine are WELL worse than this!

Its the part you see in the second image I'm needing replacements of. Wonder how much Mr T will want to fleece me for those bad boys plus the bolts and springs. LOL

Rusty headlamp inards - loose fitting - where to buy bits

Hey folks, One of my headlamps died so I ordered a crystal set from the states which arrived today fitted with H4's. Went to install on the car and everything inside the plastic shroud is all rusted to bu88ery. The old headlamps units were wobbling around inside the plastic sleeve too :S Wheres the ...

Re: Dale on the BBC

News isnt interesting unless its sensationalist eh. The bellend from the AA needs his head read. 90%+ of modified cars are cosmetic anyway, especially with younger drivers. Putting a set of 17's and a stainless exhaust on a car isnt going to make it go quicker at all, on a smaller engined motor its ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Downsides to regapping plugs down to 0.7mm from 0.8?

Hey everyone, not been on here much in the last year as my car's lack of working properly has seriously depressed me to the point of hating the thing. Finally got the drive to get her running properly again instead of just getting me to work and back so I have a quick Q. Having done a big search on ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev3 - Are all rear brake pads the same size on mk2?

Just wondering if the rev3 has the same brake pads on the rear as the intial Mk2 from 1989 onwards.

Just got a set delivered here, Mintex MDB 1325 and wanted to make sure before I get the rear brakes all stripped off that they are the right ones.

Thanks folks and merry chrimbo :D

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Lack of ignition advance (well sluggish, no power till boost)

LOL nah it aint their fault.

My main problem is "if the cars get me to work Im happy" so Ive never really bothered getting it looked at / fixed.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Lack of ignition advance (well sluggish, no power till boost)

Its got a Unichip which means the stock ECU runs in conjunction with it, the chip running as an overlay/piggyback.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Lack of ignition advance (well sluggish, no power till boost)

Thakns for the replies people.

It goes "better" after an ECU reset but its still a burst couch.

Im not sure how to check the ignition timing and it hasnt been altered since I had the car mapped.

Cheers!

[Mk2] [Turbo] Lack of ignition advance (well sluggish, no power till boost)

Hello folks, Had a niggling problem for a while, basically the car drives flat. No get up and go, it boosts ok and once its up past 4000rpm it goes well (though not as quick as before). No dash lights, no stored codes using the paperclip trick etc. Just wondering if anyones got any ideas. Since it f...
