It is done through the map on the standard ecu and when 18/19 is reached it cuts fuel

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] One for the mapping gurus - fuelling requirements

Your thinking of the rev1 and rev2 map sensors which are only good to 17/18 psi. The rev3 map sensor read a voltage all the way up to 1.6 bar. Reason there is fuel cut at 18/19 psi on rev3 is that is where toyota see there injectors going past there safe limit 85% and is what i agree with in term of...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] One for the mapping gurus - fuelling requirements

Is it possible then to fit an aftermarket FPR to stock 540cc injectors and improve the fuelling slightly that way (just to get it a bit safer), or are you asking for trouble? When you mention running it to 1.3 bar above, is that due to the limits of the stock MAP sensor as the turbo AFAIK is rated ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] One for the mapping gurus - fuelling requirements

Am I right in thinking an aeromotive FPR is not necessary as the PFC can adjust fuel pressure itself? The powerfc can not control the fuel pressure but it can control the duty cycle of the injector which controls the air/fuel mix. The only time you would need to fit an aftermarket fuel pressure reg...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] One for the mapping gurus - fuelling requirements

350FWHP is achievable on std rev3+ 540cc injectors AND fuel pump. bigger inj's and pump is more of a safeguard and Future proof than anything. You would have to be running the injectors and around 100% to get near 350 fwhp from 540cc bud which just is not safe Dont go by what you read on the...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] One for the mapping gurus - fuelling requirements

Hi Leeroy Tbh i would get some 800cc sard injectors in there matey, They will drop straight into the rev3 rail and the rev3 has a larger bore so no problems with pressure drop along rail like the rev1 and rev2 rails have. As Si said when mapped will go very nicely at 1.3 bar I dont like to push inje...

Re: [Mk2] [SC] Would you fit a Fuel Pressure Regulator?

The rev2 FPR runs a higher fuel pressure than a rev3 one so would explain the running rich at top end matey. I would not risk fitting anything to do with fuelling of ebay unless its from a major company. The powerfc does not control fuel pressure but it controls the injector duty which can control t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] rev 3 fuelling at 1.2 bar

Depends on how old your fuel system is matey have mapped a couple of rev3 with 540cc injectors and at 1.2 the injector duty is around 90 which is past my safe limit of 85. Basically i say if you go past 85 you need to get walbro and bigger injectors. This is tuned to a a/f ratio of 11.5 Here is the ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] weird intake temp after cc upgrade coolant results added!

What Ben and Jrleech have said is totally. When you sat at idle or low rpm your Throttle body valve is basically closed but the engine is still running and putting energy through the turbine section of the turbo which in turn is turning the compressor side. As the compressor side is still stilling r...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] knock, water temperature max

As rory said joey 49 is quite high but these high figures were only found on gear change as you have quite a noisey clutch which is producing this ghost knock and leaving the peak at that level

If you are worried that something has changed on the map please dont hesitate to pm or contact us.

and ryan, it has been suggested by both the techies on the US site as well as ATS that the tvis doesnt nessassarily remain fully open. and going by the tests at rogue, whatever is leaking on mine "could" be causing me problems, because theres not enough vaacum to keep it open. i even spok...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] my trip to Rogue, maybe found out whats up...

Another thing you have to remember guys is although the rev3 conversion will give you better mpg and slightly more power due to being able to run more boost. The ecu is still designed to run a rev3 engine which has a different VE to the rev2. Bigger intake manifold, Larger TB, Different cams, differ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] my trip to Rogue, maybe found out whats up...

Just to clear a few things up here As have said many times the TVIS valves will remain up when no vacuum or pressure is applied. When converting to a rev3 ecu the TVIS pin is redundant and no longer needed so the tvis vsv will not be opening. If you want to be 100% sure its not closing them then all...
