Re: need someone in n.ireland or near the boarder if possible! also what i was offer

Its up to you at the end of the day but like I said before I would just leave it and get another MR2. £700 for the welding and paint work is good BUT you also need to add on the cost of the rear quarters which in the other thread come to something like £350 each so thats like £1,400 already. You als...

Re: need someone in n.ireland or near the boarder if possible! also what i was offer

I dont know then really... I would still be tempted to just sit back and think is it worth doing / spending the money...

Theres always the chance of rust coming through where the panel has been welded to the car unless he is going to guarantee it not going to happen for a certain length of time...

Re: need someone in n.ireland or near the boarder if possible! also what i was offer

think I replied to your other thread. Personally I wouldnt bother, end of the day its a Rev2 NA your going to loose money and to me its a waste of time and money.

Especially when you can pick up a Rev5 NA in the UK for like £700 - £1,500 area...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gears won't engage after stalling

Im also guessing on the clutch.

Does the car go into gear fine with the engine off but with the engine running you cant select anything?

If so then clutch, I replaced everything on mine, fluid, master + slave cylinder and still nothing. in the end new clutch fitted and all working again like new.

Re: Welding tips..need to fix my manifold in a hurry!

Judging by quality of the welds I've been doing says there ain't much wrong with the flow rates I've got it set up at, usually at about 8 / 10 on the regulator. I'm guessing I've just not done as much welding as I thought :clown: ahhh yea thats the rate your wanting. When you think of it it depends...

Re: Welding tips..need to fix my manifold in a hurry!

If you want a smaller bottle for easier moving around and storing then this is definatly a much better option - http://www.boconline.co.uk/products/products_by_type/industrial_gases/shielding_gases/argoshield/2_litre_argoshield_light_filled_cylinder.asp With the flow rate that you must be welding at...

Re: Welding tips..need to fix my manifold in a hurry!

from the mig forum after a quick google search to check -

110L at 6L/min is 18 minutes. 10L/min is 11 minutes.

You loose more as it "bursts" at the beginning due to pressure build up.

Yes, they are very expensive to use.

10lpm is usually the recommened flow setting...

Re: Welding tips..need to fix my manifold in a hurry!

I would say it mainly depends on the amps your using, eg if very high amps then the metal is going to glow brighter, definatly not like staring at a welding arc!! I remember using a stick welder accidently just touched the metal and wham imense flash especailly when your eye was not expecting anythi...

Re: Getting bored after 8 years

what you need to do is get a slow car for the week then use the MR2 on the weekend.. Ive been using a 1.0 Micra through the week, 53bhp as standard, 0 - 60 in 16seconds and then went back to the M3 with 343bhp as standard and 0-60 in something like 5 seconds... What a difference lol, makes it feel l...

Re: Had my first Spin today....... Any Advice?

Were you steering at the time of putting the foot down or in a straight line??? if In a straight line maybe get all your bushes / suspension components checked. What tyres are you using as well and what sizes? My MR2 was fine in the wet I could mash my foot to the floor spinning the rears up and the...
