It reads about at least 15-20 mph high all the time. What I need to know is if the MPH speedos are different than a KPH speedo? What parts do I need to make it function properly?

1990 JDm Turbo import speedo problems.
The speedo on my 90 MKII reads at least 20 mph high, I have confirmed this with a GPS unit. It was originally a KPH unit, and has a MPH overlay installed.
Are the KPH and MPH speedos different or is it the speedo drive gear in the trans? Thanks
