handling..
I guess handling feel is a very personal thing and different people like different setups. My Beams is running totally standard suspension except for TRD strut inserts set to slightly firmer than standard which gives quite an acceptable ride on normal roads but is much less floaty than with standard...

ABS
This won't sound very helpful but if you've swapped rev3 ecu for rev 3 and still have a problem either there's a genuine fault still there or you have a wiring problem. If now you're not getting fault codes then probably wiring is most likely assuming that the ecu's haven't been damaged. You could t...

ABS
Have you tried bridging the diagnostics (as needed to show the fault codes) then pumping the brake pedal fast, 5 times in about 15 seconds with the ignition on ?

Airbag reset
I have the dreaded constant red airbag light on...error codes 14,16 and 56 come up but so far instrument checks don't show anything wrong. Sensor resistances are in spec and there's continuity through from the ecu to the wheel airbag and nothing obviously down to earth Does anyone know the reset pro...

Yes, all sensors fitted and connected, also the impact sensors under the front slam panel. Physically all looks fine. If any were down I guess they's throw a fault code ?

[Mk2] [Generic] ABS not working
Had this problem for a while and can't find the cause... Basically the abs dash lights are normal but the abs itself doesn't seem to be working as I can lock wheels up. I checked for any suspicious wiring behind the dash and there isn't any. Checked for fault codes and got 44 and 49. Cleared the cod...

Double din touchscreen will bolt in ok but depending on the make you might need to shave a little off the plastic surround to let it fit

Knock
Cheapest to fix and most common is the arb drop link...disconnect it and see if the knock goes. I went through this with my Tubby, changed almost everything(drop links, bushes, top mounts etc) and in the end I believe it was the shock itself. The noise was noticable when driving from cold and usuall...

Rev 5
Hi, If the GTS is the same as the GT, then apart from the red marked instrument dials it should also have a red stitched 3 spoke wheel which is unique to the rev5 imports...and the plastic column surround should fit this properly, if that is modified possibly the wheel is retro fitted. Also, the rev...

Cranky
Bob, Not wishing to turn this into an argument, I just wanted to say that 'out of balance force' is not the only or most significant factor in crank design. The 'maths' I mean relate to the forces acting on the crank not just in achieving a balance...here an extract from an EPI article on racing eng...

Cranky
I'm not sure of the logic of some of this thread.....balancing is largely about removing vibration and this as stated, is related to fundamental frequency and harmonics due to the geometry and kinetics of the rotating parts....sure vibration induces stresses but, surely, if we're talking about crank...

Just be careful with your no claims with a classic policy....they don't give any and if you renew next time with a different company and need to use the ncd it won't be available.......I had built up 10+ years and then used Classic line for 2 years until they upped the premium by too much....then wh...
