gearbox
Clutch was replaced by Rogue less than 5k miles ago and master cylinder has been rebuilt since then. Bite point is completely normal with minimal free play on the pedal adjustment so I'm not sure how this could be a factor ? The whole gear change is generally heavy compared to my st205..

[Mk2] [Turbo] Gearchange at high revs
This has been raised on an earlier thread by someone else but I don't think it was ever really resolved so ...... Rev 5 turbo is really hard to do an up change at high revs, 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th. At low revs it is completely fine with no sign of weak syncros or an obstructive change. Take it to...

[Mk2] [Generic] Aircon problem
Tried the Celica site without luck so perhaps someone here can help? I've refitted aircon to the st205 (all stripped out when the car was bought) and had it gassed up. Surprisingly ( !!) its not working, and a bit of help is needed please.... When I turn it on the compressor seems to kick in but aft...

.....plus somehow removing the plastic cover that goes over the fog lamp body and stops access to the bulb holder.....would have been easy if they hadn't put the aircon pipes across it....still, that's Toyota for you....;(((

Wiring is good, checked it a couple of times but I guess I'll try taking the delimiter off although solid state stuff doesn't usually do intermitent faults. Drove it 300 miles today and the engine light came on ( and went off again) twice....

[Mk2] [Turbo] Error code 42
Can anyone help please? I'm getting error 42 on an ST205 (same as rev 3+ turbo except charge cooler) Code relates to signal from the speed sensor not received by the ecu in a certain time interval. The car has an electronic speedo which is working fine and is reading MPH via a KBTV delimiter chip in...

Noise
Not really solved so going to live with it for a while as everything I look at checks out ok now. I'm running a 5/50 Motorsport oil and maybe a different spec or oil additive might quieten it down, but apart from that I'm out of ideas!!! This is on an st205 celica and if I run the rev5 mr2 turbo (sa...

Altenator
Probably will clash with the standard intercooler rad, fan, hot and cold pipes and a few other bits. I doubt the cooling duct would be a big issue as most of the GT4's I've seen (including mine) have had it removed and the altenators don't seem to suffer on those cars. If you're running a charge coo...

Noise
The top end sounds pretty much the same as mine. I did check all valve clearances and they were in spec, admittedly towards the allowable max in most cases.
Some of the noise on mine was an exhaust blow as an earlier reply suggested and having fixed that it just sounds like noisy tappets

Just had a look at mine. Whatever gasket is in there is pretty thin, you can't really see any sign of it from the outside and the mateing surfaces pull up almost touching

[Mk2] [Turbo] Minor engine rattle....
On a rev3 turbo. If you gently blip the revs from 1000 to about 1500 then as the revs die back there is a slight 'tappety' rattle from the rocker cover/inlet manifold area. Any ideas?

Sure the fronts don't hit the arch liners on bumps? I only ask as I had to take the same tyres off mine for that reason
