Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch alignment tool

The whole kit came with a lightened flywheel and twin plate clutch, but no alignment tool.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch alignment tool

I managed to find one specifically for the MR2 Turbo on RockAuto for £9.24 delivered to Ireland.

PIONEER (TAT-5395) Clutch Alignment Tool.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch alignment tool

Where can I get a good clutch alignment tool without paying silly shipping prices ?

I need a clutch alignment tool for '93 turbo. I would prefer using one that's designed for the turbo model rather than a universal as I'm installing a Carbonetic twin plate clutch.

Re: Mk2 2gr supercharged

I'm afraid nothing is going to happen in the short term with this, I have a 1 year waiting list on customer engine conversions. FML. I suppose that's not a bad complaint. I do hope that you find the time to complete this car, as it has quite a lot of interesting mods done to it. That's what drew me...

Although it's a little bit long, I would recommend that you read this thread to get a better understanding of what's involved.

Re: Ditching HT leads and dizzy for COP always a good idea?

It's the cop from the 1zzfe that you need. I seem to recall that the 2zzfe uses a different setup.

If you want to keep a clean oem look, then you can fit a 5sfe oil pump which has the space for the trigger wheel sensor.

Also the trigger wheel pulley is 13521-88560.

Re: Mk2 2gr supercharged

That would be a tough decision to sell one of those. It would be like selling one of your children.

Push come to shove I think it would be the Porsche, if it was me. :-k

Re: Discovered rusty sills :(

The MK2 MR2 rusts a lot worse then I imagined and having been in ownership for 7 months seen quite a bit of the rust issues. On my red car it has had the normal areas of rust sorted. 1. Sills. 2. Rear arch (driver side). 3. Behind the rear bumper/inside the rear arch to boot (driver side). I was su...

Re: Rear quarter panel rusting.

I have never heard of this before. I have rust on the rear quarter where it joins the inner wheel arch. I have a rev2 import turbo.

What year is the car, is it a import ?

Would you take some photos ?

I would like to see how you go about repairing the damage. Post some photos if possible.

Re: Mk2 2gr supercharged

It looks good. I actually like the side skirts extended, it "joins" the extended front and rear.

I would be tempted to give the rear of front wings air ducts F40 style. It would help wheel arch air flow.

I'm not usually a fan of yellow cars, but I like this colour.

Re: Mk2 2gr supercharged

This is in no way a criticism, but maybe you are subconsciously using styling cues from the Venturi 400 Trophy. Anyway, I am enjoying the project. Keep it up. https://www.google.ie/search?q=venturi+car&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjz7dWzpqTUAhUKJFAKHapqAPgQ_AUIBigB&biw=12...

Re: Mk2 2gr supercharged

A lot of work and thought has gone into this, I can see that.

Would it not be better to make the frame from aluminum to keep the weight down and thus creating less flex on the supporting structure that you are making ?

Re: CV JOINT/ DRIVE SHAFT

If you have abs then you need a cv joint with the abs tone/reluctor ring installed. Otherwise you'll have to re-install your old abs ring.
