Re: Engine warm re-starting/backfiring problems?

Cheers all.
Where would I find the cold start injector and water temp sensor?
It only does this when its warm, which I'm thinking then could be the engine still thinking its cold, chucking way too much fuel in?

Cheers,
Scott.

Re: Engine warm re-starting/backfiring problems?

Standard unleaded mate. I only use V-Power in my turbo.
I'm going to order new plugs, leads and dizzy cap/rotor arm from Camskill tonight, and see if that makes any difference.
What plugs do they prefer? Ngk (basic £2.99 jobs), Denso iridium, Ngk platinum......etc?

Cheers,
Scott.

Re: Engine warm re-starting/backfiring problems?

You havent welded a spark plug into the exhaust and connected to the dizzy and a switch? Starting points other than mentioned above, check both cam and dizzy timing, check for exhaust leaks, and such. Its it making the noise though inlet or exhaust? Alex I wish it was something I created!...

Engine warm re-starting/backfiring problems?

Well, after running like clockwork for a few years now, it would seem the old MK1 (G reg) has developed a starting issue :( Basically as an example, if i start it from cold (usually starts first time), then drive to the petrol station, fuel it up, then try and re-start it, it refuses to fire properl...

Re: MK1b sill replacement?

Ive checked eBay for mk1 sills, and the only thing that came up was a red sideskirt? :? The problem lies with her needing it for work, so I really need to go for the easiest and quickest repair option possible mate. Is there no recommended companies who manufacture them? I called Toyota, and they wa...

MK1b sill replacement?

Not the greatest of outcomes yesterday after taking the missus' car for its MOT. It failed on excessive corrosion on both nearside and offside sills. :( Does anybody know of, or would recommend anywhere that I could get replacements from? Also, at some stage the rear arches need replacing. Cheers, S...

[Mk2] [Generic] 4 wheel alignment in Shropshire?

After fitting Tein Flex coilovers to my tubby, I need to get the tracking/alignment done. Does anybody know of anyone in Shropshire, preferably Telford who they would recommend? Also, would the stock suspension settings for the turbo differ in any way to the n/a's ? Cheers, Scott :)

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Do-Luck Rear Spoiler anyone..?

I need one of these to finish off my Do-Luck kit, but if you look on Sumo Power's (official do-luck uk dealer) website, you will notice that currently, a small mortgage is needed to buy any part of the kit, one of the reasons theres so few about ](*,) The spoiler including VAT is currently £1,066.15...

Re: [FINALIZED] DO-LUCK MR2 MK2 GT IMPORT TURBO T-BAR *BACK UP FOR SALE*

Sorry to see a fellow 'Do-Luck' MR2 up for sale :(
Good luck with the sale, even though you shouldn't need it, its a great example.

If you want to be rare, buy a Do-Luck kitted MR2.
- Probably rarer than a TRD in the UK

[Mk2] [Turbo] Handbrake troubles!...

My handbrake doesn't seem to be applying enough pressure to hold the car from moving when applied. With the handbrake on, i can still push the car, and if i park on a slight incline, im having to put it into gear to stop it rolling! The handbrake itself still goes tight, but it is not far off...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch problems...

I seem to be having problems just lately putting the car into any gear, which is taking away the pleasure of driving it! My clutch pedal seems really high, but doesn't seem to dis-engage and give a smooth(ish) change until my foot is more or less buried to the floor. Is this just signs of a w...
