Re: Which colour tint for UK Rev 1 windscreen?

Thanks for responding Jimi, it's appreciated. I ended up giving my chassis number to my local Toyota parts dept on the pretext of ordering one from them (they can't get them anymore though... discontinued!) and they told me it's listed as a green tint for my particular car. Putting a bit of clean wh...

Which colour tint for UK Rev 1 windscreen?

As above. I need yet another new windscreen for my 1991 UK Rev 1 T- bar (a not often recognised issue with potholes ... the loose debris they leave ready to be flicked up and thrown back by the vehicle in front!). The question I'm being asked by the insurance company is which colour tint is required...

Thanks for the replies guys.

Now have a genuine Toyota one sitting on my table ready to go on courtesy of MR2 Ben.

How many different dizzy caps/leads through the Revs?

As above really. I went to replace the distributor cap and rotor arm on my (as far as I'm aware) bog standard UK MK2 Rev1 N/A but found the supplied dizzy cap had too small a central hole for the King lead. Were there multiple different specs... Rev1 different to Rev2? Both different to Rev3 and on?...

What diameter Anti Roll Bar for '91 Rev 1?

As above really. Does anyone know what size is standard for a UK '91 Rev1 N/A? MOT advisories include 'Anti-roll bar pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement both Nearside and Offside Front'. As far as I'm aware there is no 'pin' (unless they mean the drop links?) but I've seen liste...

Refreshing/Conditioning T-bar rubbers... how?

Evening all, I have a question for you as per the title really.

What should be used on the T bar/door rubbers to keep them supple and thus water resistant?

Silicon based? Non Silicon?

Any recommendations of products used?

Re: Rev 2-5 gear knob in Rev 1?

Thanks Wilkie. Yeah I don't fancy going for a short shifter again but I may at some point try a later rev stick/knob now I know they're interchangeable. I thought they were but wasn't sure so thanks for that. PS. Is it only you I and a few other lost souls left on this forum? It seems a very quiet p...

Rev 2-5 gear knob in Rev 1?

If anybody can let me know it would be great. Years ago I had the TRD short shifter in my white Rev1 but it was actually too short and was ball shaped and I found I couldn't use it as I did the tall standard item but I'm wondering if the later revs just shorter knob might be the right compromise. It...

Hub centre bore ... 60.00 or 60.10?

As per the title really.

Can anyone confirm the mk2 hub is a 60.1mm centre bore and 5 x 114.3 hole pattern.

I'm thinking of changing my 15mm rear spacers for 12mm or 10mm instead and can't remember what the specs are

Many thanks

Diagram of the door window mechanism?

Hi all, hoping this finds everyone happy and healthy. I currently have a drivers side window that is just starting to rattle a little when at certain places when part open. Doesn't do it whilst fully up or down so not too much of an issue just yet but I'd like to have the car as perfect as I can get...

Sticking calliper/handbrake ... help!

Evening all. So back with another question for you. I've just had a full service carried out and a good checkover ahead of the MOT in a month or so. The upshot is I have a sticking rear n/s calliper due I'm told to the mechanical mechanism of the handbrake not properly freeing itself off. After a de...

Re: How to check gearbox oil level?

Hi Brian and thanks for the response... again. I think it likely now I'll leave everything 'standard' rather than change to the Eibachs .... if I keep the car another decade or so I'm sure by then there will be enough sag in the springs to bring it back to how it looked when I bought it 5 years ago....

Re: How to check gearbox oil level?

Thanks Toxo.... you're a star. Now if you can answer my questions about the Eibach springs with standard shocks in the mods section as well.... Is it me or does it seem there aren't anywhere near as many active members here as there were when I had my old white Rev1 (that's going back 6 or 7 years a...

How to check gearbox oil level?

As per the title really. When I've watched Wheeeler Dealers it seems to often be a case of just filling until it comes out of an 'overflow' then plugging the overflow but I've no idea if that's right for my car .... a UK Mk2 Rev1 but with a recent replacement sump without the standard 'automatic' le...

[Mk2] [Generic] Eibach Springs ... with standard struts?

Howdy all, hoping this finds you well. I recently (2 years ago now) refreshed all my front suspension with genuine Toyota bits other than the top mounts (TRD) and the springs ('standard' replacements from TCB since Toyota apparently just don't make them anymore). In due course and probably now next ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gearbox Speed Sensor : 33403-19476

I'd try the usual suspects for parts..

TCB parts

MR2 Ben

Fensport

Rogue Motorsport

If not then try putting an alert onto some 24/7 spares sites as there are bound to be 2s being broken in less specialist garages/breakers.

Good luck.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Sticking caliper handbrake lever ... any fix?

So it is a new (or recon) calliper then?

There's no way to address the 'lever' issue short of actually reconditioning the whole thing?

Oh well! The awkward thing is I'll now have to try to match the calliper paint I used all those years ago .... or repaint them all!
