Re: [Mk2] [NA] HELP NEEDED! ...Where to buy new sump?

OK last question.

I've been informed there is a cork sump gasket available.... Is it worth it as I think they came from the factory just fixed using sealant or am I mistaken?

Does anybody think it's worth the extra £20 or so to go with the gasket?

Nor does mine now Wilkie.

I've also just done a deal with a near neighbour to rent her garage now she no longer runs a car so it'll be snug and dry when not driven and enjoyed.

Thanks for that.

Would you spray it on both sides or just the external surface?

Re: [Mk2] [NA] HELP NEEDED! ...Where to buy new sump?

Many thanks guys. The new part arrived today from Ben and it's all set to go to the garage a week today. Last question ... I don't have any stone chip to spray the outer surface with but I do have some Hammerite. Is it worth it? Looks like the part is powder coated from the factory. I guess another ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] HELP NEEDED! ...Where to buy new sump?

Ha. Now it works ...typical. I wanted to say I went with the UK based MR2 Ben non sensor part at £172 as it worked out at half the price of the sensor part once the higher purchase prices, shipping and Import Taxes were factored in. PS Can the non sensor part be modified to take a sensor or is it a ...

I've logged in then tried four times to reply again and this stupid site still keeps telling me to log in again once I've spent 10 minutes composing my message rather than simply posting it!

Useless.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] HELP NEEDED! ...Where to buy new sump?

Thanks Sonic. I've just ordered up the version from MR2 Ben. It's genuine Toyota but as you say doesn't allow for the oil level sensor. I did look at the two links you posted but couldn't see anything that mentioned the sensor. Are you saying those DO allow for the sensor to remain? PS. Why the diff...

Which windscreen for UK MK2 REV1 T-Bar?

So... bu88er! I've got to replace my windscreen which has a developed a 3 inch crack right at the bottom edge. I want to keep the car original so ideally want a genuine Toyota screen and am currently waiting for a call back from insurer's chosen provider 'Auto Windscreen' to see if my insurance will...

A few more bits needed .... Anybody help?

Hi all. So thanks to Wilkie Snr. I got the 2 back on the road after exactly 10 months on Saturday. I needed a UK front plate holder to make it all legal and Brian came good for me. It turns out though I really need two more items to complete things properly. One is the front central undertray and th...

Re: Rev 5 Mk2 Water in Drivers footwell. Car is Covered constantly!

First do a taste test to ensure it's not sweet. If it is then its coolant likely from a leaky heater matrix (dash out job to reach I'm afraid). If it isn't sweet and is indeed water the only way to find where it's coming in is to hire a smoke machine. Pop it in the car, turn it on, shut the doors an...

Front plate holder for UK MK2 needed urgently

Hi all. It's been a while since I've posted here but I'm in a bit of a bind. Following a crash just before lockdown and a long drawn out and quite bitter battle with insurers my two will hopefully be back on the road next week. The one part I haven't been able to source but is still required is a st...
