Hi Andrew,
There wasn't much fuel left in, so it's had virtually a full tank of V-Power added.

Re: MOT Emissions Failure
Right cheers, I'll have a muck about with the FPR & mixture screw, but i'm a bit cynical because they should be at the same settings as they were last year.

Re: MOT Emissions Failure
Cheers, I'll try replacing the old bits and setting the mixture screw to zero. The FPR is shown below. The pipe that partially came off is the one on the right hand side at the bulk head. When it got mot'd i was late, so it got well caned all the way there. Regards, Darren I've took the link to the ...

Re: MOT Emissions Failure
Cheers guys, I've just checked last years emission results & it got CO 2.58% (strangely with a max limit of 4.5%, have they lowered it?) & HC of 170. So somethings definitely gone catastrophically wrong. For info it's been laid up over winter until about 5 weeks ago. When i started it up for...

MOT Emissions Failure
Hi all, I got my Mk1 T-bar MOT'd today, and everything was perfect except the emissions test. It got 9.488% CO where it should have been under 3.500%. The HC was OK, 834 (Max limit 1200). The past few years it's been well under on both. The only thing i've changed from last year is a new exhaust (Mo...

Re: My Old T-Bar / D290 EWK / Anyone Own This?
Hi Paul, I was the one who bought it off you, and yes i still have it, completely restored bodywork wise. Briefly:- after picking it from you (the drive from Kent to Teesside with the knackered clutch was an absolute nightmare), i drove it for about a month after fixing the clutch, and then took it ...

Heater Illumination
Hi, hopefully a quick & easy question.
How do you change the bulb for the illumination of the heater controls on a Mk1b. It's never worked since i bought the car, but now it's getting darker earlier it's started to bug me.
Cheers,
Daz

Hi,
I may be wrong, because it was over a year ago when i took that piece off, but i'm fairly sure they're 8mm nuts.

Re: Exhaust Gaskets
Cheers, It turns out the gaskets were fitted, they'd welded themselves to the exhaust flange. They were an absolute sod to get off. I had to remove the exhaust, and chisel them off with a small screwdriver and hammer, as they just disintegrated. The new ones were a really tight fit aswell. I had to ...

Exhaust Gaskets
Hi all, i'm just in the process of changing my cracked exhaust manifold, and there doesn't appear to be any gaskets between the stainless steel Janspeed exhaust and the manifold. I assume it'll need gaskets (which i've bought), so my question is do the standard Toyota gaskets fit with the Janspeed, ...

Re: Import Duty & VAT?
Sure is. I factored in the extra cost, but i wasn't sure how the system worked.
Is it a 100% cert that'll have to pay the extra. Surely they'd have to open every package, or do they have stickers on them similar to play.com, declaring the value?
Cheers, Daz

Import Duty & VAT?
Hi all,
I've just ordered some trim/seal kits from K-Box Engineering, & was wondering if anybody else has ordered from them and had to pay Import Duty & VAT once the items hit the UK.
Regards, Daz

Replacement Front Panel
Hi all, I've just bought a new front 'radiator support' panel (full width panel in front of radiator at the top) from MrT for my '87 Mk1b. I've noticed that there are extra strengthening plates behind the bonnet latch bolt holes, and two extra longitudinal brace plates on the top in front of where t...

AW11 Front Strut Brace Cost
Hi,
Does anyone know how much a new front strut brace costs from Mr.T?
There's one on e-bay at the moment, but it's currently about £65 with a day still to go.
Regards
Daz

Re: Mk1 T-bar front strut brace
Thanks for the replies. There doesn't appear to be any marks on the strut tops. I only realised last week from e-bay that there's also supposed to be dust caps on top. I assumed because it's a fairly clean environment under the bonnet that none were required. So it seems i'm missing the strut brace,...

Mk1 T-bar front strut brace
Just a quick question. I read somewhere recently that all mk1 T-bars have a front top strut brace fitted as standard to aid with ridity. Is this true? as my 87' t-bar doesn't have one.
