Re: Donington this sunday (17th December)
WTF is that all about!! There is no way that circuit would work well backwards? Craners? Uphill? I dont think so....
Which moron made that decision?

Re: At last,3 years on... 393hp@8200rpms' is this a little low?!
It sounds like the wastegate spring isnt strong enough to me, I know Andy had to run two in his to get decent boost control. I think he ran one inside the other. If the spring isnt strong enough the wastegate will get pushed open. Also, you need to be aiming for inlet temps of 40 degrees, maybe even...

Re: Giving the 3SGE another 2000rpm...
I suspect its because the unruly element dont know what a 3sge is :) On a seperate note, does anyone know how high you can push the CR on an N/A before you need to start running on race fuel? I was originally advised 11:1, although I have noticed a few new production cars running higher elevens? Sin...

Re: Giving the 3SGE another 2000rpm...
Just to let you know, we are doing exactly this with a camry 3.0 3vz V6....
motec, heads, cams, valves, 11:1 cr, itbs and injectors.
Hope to rev it to 8.5k rpm, but alot depends on what piper can do with the cams.
trying for 330-350bhp...
will report back later this year

Re: Fastest MR2 in UK?
I dont get it to be honest, who cares about the fastest MR2 in a straight line? Surely if straight lines were your thing you wouldnt be messing around with a mid engined car in the first place? Its like finally getting a date with a gorgeous girl you have been chasing for ages and then taking her to...

Re: TRD V6 - Yay or Nay?
Bah, I would just go for it - the sound the V6 makes is incredible, makes the 3sgte sound like a lawnmower. the 1mz has plenty of supercharger options, and the 3vz is good for turbo options. Or you could go mental like me and build a custom high revving, high CR 3VZ on an M600 and run without superc...

Re: exhaust designs...do turbo's require any back pressure..??
Whatever turbo you use it will leak oil if you dont have any backpressure. Besides, what gains are you expecting? A 3" downpipe and a good exhaust system wont be much worse than a straight exit.

Re: Tyre - massive constant pressure drop? NOOOOOOO!!! (update)
My mate had this on some cheap tyres he used on his porsche. It was caused by the tyres not seating on the bead properly, they dont leak when stationary but everytime the wheel rolls over the part that isnt seated very well a small amount of air comes out. Solution? Well, he over inflated his to 45p...

Re: Tyre Set Up
I always liked 215x40 (27 psi) front, 235x40 rear (29 psi) with Bridgesone S03's. The tyre pressure will depend on the construction and brand of tyre, Toyo's have ultra soft sidewalls and need high pressure, Bridgesone//Yoko have hard sidewalls, which means you can get away with lower pressures. You just wont find 215x40x17 in track tyres. apart from the ones above  Personally for a tubby with relatively stock suspension I would be running.. rules me out then.. another   I did try and help... ](*,) ZZR's dont actually seem to be available for purchase, no matter what t...

You need a good fan attached to the intercooler - the fans in the workshop wont really help

You just wont find 215x40x17 in track tyres. Personally for a tubby with relatively stock suspension I would be running 205x40x17 front and 235x40x17 rear. I used Kumho V70a's at bruntingthorpe and Donington and they are pretty good, although they do overheat quite quickly when pushed hard. The R888...
