Re: Charge cooler pump flow rate...

Would using a swirl pot make it any easier to bleed? :D And also, is it best to use water, coolant 4life for instance), a mix of some kind, water wetter sort of stuff? Ant A swirl pot wont really help - to be honest the best mod we made was to add a bleed tap on the top of the pre-rad!. Use pure wa...

Re: Laptimers

Ok, yes, laptiming is a no-no and we *should* have commented on the other drivers not just let it go on without bringing it up. Moral of the story? If your going to break the rules, at least try and avoid announcing it to a couple of thousand people, some of whom were being paid to enforce the rule...

Re: twin entry turbo

Im still not convinced "twin entry" wasnt just a marketing gimmick - certainly doesent seem to have been widely adopted anywhere else? And most hybrids have the baffle removed and the exhaust housing enlarged? Pointless if you ask me :) It isn't pointless, have you experience how laggy a ...

Re: Charge cooler pump flow rate...

Its a balancing act to be honest, if the water flows too fast it wont be in the front rad long enough to cool down, if it flows too slowly it will be in the CC core too long and wont cool the intake charge enough because it will get too hot! Ideally the system should be perfectly balanced at WOT, so...

Why did you remove the ABS Mark? Personally I have found the MkII ABS pretty good - some cars have a terrible implementation but I find you can really lean on the MR2 ABS ;)

Re: Silverstone F1 testing. 25th - 27th April

I will be there tommorow morning with Renault. The general public are usually restricted to the Luffield complex, although its an excellent place to observe. The best place at Silverstone to see who has got the setup right is the BRDC grandstand, on the infield just as they brake after bridge - howe...

Re: Craig David dies

I have had both the original pump that came with the Pace c/c fail (Jabsco?) and the Davis Craig fail since running the GT4 Core. I've also had the fuse blow out on me a couple of times ! On each occasion i've known the pump has stopped flowing because I monitor my intake charge temps via the Apexi...

Re: Craig David dies

Jonno, You don't need a flow sensor - you just need to 'sense' when the pump isn't drawing any current, you may be able to reuse a blown bulb sensor circuit for this. Ben. What if the CC water circuit is blocked? Or like most Craig Davids, the pump still makes a racket but doesent actually move any...

This is the best I can up with so far... http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp?SKU=560121&N=401 Just need an electronics genius like Paul Port to design a circuit to light an LED (green?) when its flowing and sound a buzzer when its not flowing. I will do some digging and see if ...

Re: Craig David dies

I suggest moving the pump from the front bumper and relocating it to where I have mine..... Just below the C/C core attatched to the side of the little platform where the original air filter box is bolted to. This way you will not only have easy access to the pump in the future but you'll find it a...

Re: Front or Rear brakes? Which does the most work?

It doesn't matter if it's external. I bet its tricky getting pads up to temp with that size disc! Thats the reason i was going for something slightly smaller hopefully they'll come up to a useable temp a bit quicker. :) Out of interest Jonno where did you get your mounting brackets for the rear fro...

Re: Front or Rear brakes? Which does the most work?

I run 330mm front and rear with HiSpec Billet 4's on the front and stock callipers on custom mounting brackets on the rear. I am currently running DS2500's on the front and porterfield race pads on the rear. It moves the bias towards the rear which I really like, however it is possible to lock the r...
