Re: supercharger V's N/A
My comparison was a modified SC vs my old NA (Janspeed and K&N). The SC is clearly quicker, but I enjoyed driving the NA so much more. The SC has loads of lower down torque, but tails off as you get high up the revs, where as the NA picks up at the top end. I felt when pushing hard in the NA, I ...

Re: Uprated Fuel Pump for NA
Thanks for the offers, but have discovered that there's a choice of about 10 OEM MR2 Turbo fuel pumps available in the States, ordering a Denso one for $115 + $40 postage.
Soooo much more choice in the US

Re: Cleaning an Empty Fuel Tank
Thanks. I'll do that with what's in the tank at the moment (I can keep straining the fuel and then putting it back in). Also will try with some small pebbles in there, should help free up any loose bits (unless it's sludgy when they might get stuck!). Going to give this stuff a try, Marine Clean fro...

Cleaning an Empty Fuel Tank
Hi, I've got the tank off my Mk1, and prior to fitting a new pump it makes sense to clean out the tank. I've found loads of guides on the web about how to clean it, but I can't find much out there in the way of tank cleaner that all the guides use. My local motor factors have never heard of such a t...

Re: Uprated Fuel Pump for NA
Thanks for the replys. Had a look on the TB forums, and I think I'm going to go for a pump from a Mk2 Turbo. Given the hassle getting these things swapped, I'm tempted to get a new one, if I can get a decent discount... Toyota quoted £241 + VAT ! My local Andrew Paige motor factors quoted my £105 + ...

Uprated Fuel Pump for NA
I'm back! After having my Mk1 sat on axle stands for the last 3 years, I've finally started to do some more work on it. Today, the fuel tank and hard coolant pipes came out. That was NOT a fun job! Need a few new breather hoses now #-o While the tank is out, I might as well stick a new fuel pump in....

Re: Coolant hoses and other hoses - where to find?
I believe that the Toyota prices for the two front radiator hoses are around the 200 pound mark each. There was talk in a couple of threads on IMOC of getting Samco (or similar) to make a coolant hose kit for the Mk1, however it stalled on a number of attempts and hasn't got very far. I took mine of...

Re: Dale on the BBC
Once they've crushed a few peoples pride and joys, the rest will probably get the message.... I'm not suggesting that an un-disclosed steering wheel should get your car crushed, but if someones done an engine swap with a turbo, or a 2.0 in a Corsa, Nitrous, or other serious mods, and they've clearly...

Re: Dale on the BBC
First of all, good work getting an MR2 on the TV :) As for the AA, as someone has already mentioned, there is already a system in place to prevent young drivers putting high performance mods on their cars, or even buying high performance cars.... it's called the insurance premium. I'm pretty certain...

Like this??
Just because it's sunny outside the car, doesn't mean it's warm
That was a long time ago now.... In August this year, I'll have owned MR2's for 10 years

Re: Advice on how to remove the engine... no suspension fitted.
Thanks guys, good to know. I'm just paranoid about my paintwork, should really have done all this lot first and the paint last! As there is nothing on the underside, I can probably get away with lifting it less than normal anyway. Thinking about tackling the fuel tank tomorrow.... might change my mi...

Advice on how to remove the engine... no suspension fitted.
Hello, The time has finally come to do some more work on my Mk1. I want to drop the engine, to clean it up and give it an overhaul, but am not sure how I can do it safely given the current state of the car.... - ALL suspension components are removed, all brackets, supports etc.. - Driveshafts and st...

Fair enough!
So functionally it's rubbish, but I like the polished silencers and twin pipe look.

The contrast of the mirror polish and black is spot on. It's good how you masked the corners round and not to a sharp corner. Good tip...
