Re: TRD heavy duty suspension top mounts

The treatment / finish on the metal part of the TRD mounts is very poor, my previous set rusted within a year. The rust is only light, but annoying given the price and age. Worth painting the metal bits with Hammerite or similar before fitting....

Re: Rear Cusco Type AS strut Brace - modify Hood?

I offered it up to the car, but it looked like it'd need more than a slight trim on the engine lid... All the bends are completely unnecessary on an NA, so I've ordered the other model with the round bar for the rear. Not as good looking as the oval one, but much more functional.

Re: T-bar seals - Mr T only?

I paid £80 a side from Toyota last week for T-Bar seals... Seemed quite reasonable to me!

Fitting new T-bar seals - Where needs sealant / adhesive?

I'm going to fit a pair of new T-bar seals this weekend, as my white Mk1 is leaking like a seive since I removed and re-fitted the seals to get the windscreen fixed. Looking at the BGB, the only place requiring sealant, is inside the 3 retainers on each side of the roof. Is this correct? Thanks, Jon

Re: **** OFFICIAL MONGOOSE GROUP BUY ****

What are the rules on the warranty?

The Janspeed one stated that it had to be fitted by an approved dealer, and inspected on a yearly basis (with evidence!).

Most of us will fit these ourselves, does this void the warranty?

Thanks,
Jon

Re: Rear Cusco Type AS strut Brace - modify Hood?

I wasn't aware of that! I've got one order from Japan at the moment, I guess it'll be a few weeks before it arrives, I'll have a look at it then if you've not found out before.

Re: **** OFFICIAL MONGOOSE GROUP BUY ****

Great news.

While I'm happy to pay up straight away, you've not told us HOW to pay you...

What's your Paypal e-mail address?

I can also pay via bank xfer, if you pm me your bank details.

Regards,
Jon

Please pm me details of how to pay (I'm happy to do a bank transfer for the full amount).

Re: micro 4age build

If I had the spare time, it's something I'd have a go at. Not sure I've got the patience or a steady enough hand though.

It's a hobby, some of us do track days, some of us re-build our cars etc... At least he's got something to show for it when he's finished.

Re: Gearbox Problem

I've not got much experiece with gearboxes, but it sounds like this is a gearbox out job, in which case fitting a 2nd hand unit is probably the cheapest option.

I'm sure someone with more gearbox knowledge will be along shortly....
