Re: UK 4AGE Engine specialist?

whats the goal JR? The goal is a 200bhp NA engine, ideally with a power band in the 3500-8500rpm range. I reckon that TED Components Production Race Head Package, combined with the 1800cc stroker kit, quad throttle bodies and Motec ECU should get me what I want... Their production race head package...

Re: UK 4AGE Engine specialist?

I'd forgotten about Raw Engineering, thanks. I think they get a lot of their parts from Fensport.. I seem to remember Dino had recommended somewhere, something like JPH (3 letters, thin there was a J and a H in it). Dino?? I'm sure that TED Components are probably the best people to do the job, as t...

UK 4AGE Engine specialist?

Does anyone have any links/info on any UK 4AGE engine specialists that are up to the job of building a stroker 4AGE, porting, polishing, blueprinting, oversize valves etc..? I can get a 1800cc stroker kit from TED Components for $1800... I can either get them to build me a whole engine (then ship it...

Some more cars...

As part of my on-going test, I've test driven a couple more today: Audi TT Quatro 180bhp - 6 Speed Coupe ----------------------------------------------- A nice car, excellent visibility, very capable, turbo lag was minimal. Not very good feedback wise. Audi TT Quatro 3.2 V6 Roadster Tiptronic ------...

Re: Mk1 Quad Throttle Body Conversions..

Paul, your quad throttle body mod sounds very interesting... I'll watch this space. If you're having any manifolds/adaptors made up, please let me know and I'll throw in for a set too. I'll have a look at Jenvey as well.. I've found a full race prepped 4AGE for sale, newly built I believe, 210bhp, 1...

Of course I know really that no-one can dissuade you and you're dead set on tuning your mk1... go for it!! I'm look...

Mk1 Quad Throttle Body Conversions..

Does anyone have that link to the company in Australia that sells the quad throttle body conversion for the 4AGE engine? They sell them on Ebay from time to time, but can't find them now. Toda racing also do a set (for about £2000!). I suppose there is always the custom route as well, I've been hear...

Re: Mk1 MR2 vs Everything else.....

OK, it may be me getting getting old, but why would anyone want to spend 20k ruining a classic car like the mk1 MR2? If you want performance then buy a motorbike. If you want the attention, then walk down the street naked! I've just brought a tarted up MK1 (it was cheap) while i restore my MK1 T-Ba...

Re: Mk1 MR2 vs Everything else.....

When will it be finished.... 2 years I reckon... it's the £20k worth of parts that's going to be the thing that slow me down a bit. Nakamichi make exceedingly good quality, understated car audio stuff, check out: http://www.nakamichi.com (You might want to hit the 'Music' tab and turn it off!!) The ...

Mk1 MR2 vs Everything else.....

I've just had my final 'do I want to buy another car, or spend loads on my Mk1' battle... My criteria for the car is enjoyment. I'm not really bothered if something else is quicker in a straight line, quicker round a corner or brakes better, just how much enjoyment I get from driving it. So with tha...
