I think 10 degrees is the standard setting, thats what you should be at. What did you have your set to?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Water/methanol injection.
by injecting water you don't actually get rid of any heat though? as with a radiator the energy is actually transfered to the outside air, external to the combustion chamber. whereas with injecting water, the energy is simply absorbed by the water, the water doesn't raise in temperature, but instea...

](*,) Ok..lets straighten out a few things: this seems to be getting out of hand......!! Firstly: Bob..! F1 used WI experimentally to stop them blowing up their engines, and enable them to run more boost......Then the FIA banned turbos...so consequently, the teams stopped looking at WI: why ...

Yes I would love to read your paper.
Sounds like you know more about WI than me, Saab and all the F1 teams when they where running the Turbos.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Water/methanol injection.
Had a brief conversation with a tuner today and I'll be booking my car in soon to have a kit installed. The kit will have direct WI into each cylinder with various safety features such as boost cut when low on water. Said that the advance timing gained will make the car very responsive (7-12 deg). ...

Yes this is what WI is all about and only this.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Water/methanol injection.
The real essence of WI, and the often-overlooked bit, is that it CHEMICALLY cools the charge. It is the transfer of energy from the hot air to the tiny molecules of the water mist, causing them to evaporate that do the real work. The finer the mist, the better that process becomes. At the point of ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] fitted fcd with strange readings
What FCD do you have? The stock boost gauge will not read as high after the FCD is fitted, thats how it works. The ECU sees a lower boost so no fuel cut.

[Mk2] [Turbo] HKS GD PRO clutch problems
I fitted a second hand HKS GD PRO clutch last night and have some questions.
Should it have a longer rod from the slave cylinder to the release lever as they are 2 apart?
I am using a standard release bearing, is this right?
Anything else I should know about the fitting of this clutch.
Thanks
Bob

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Some help with tyre sizes on 7J 17inch rims please?
Thanks for all the help! I think I'm going to go for the 225/35/17s on the rear, but one thing still confuses me... According to the tyre calculator, the 225/ 35 /17s are closer to the original stock tyre size (205/60/14) than the 225/ 45 /17s. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html I was going ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Some help with tyre sizes on 7J 17inch rims please?
The most important thing of all is that you must have the best tyres, ok the size needs to be about right, but what ever size you use you have got to have a tyre like the Goodyear F1 or B F Goodridge Profiler. I and my son will only use the above makes of tyres. Between us we have tried about 12 set...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Some help with tyre sizes on 7J 17inch rims please?
I would go for a 225-45-17 on the rear, I know you can get them ok, and a 215 on the front.

The harder it is the better it will corner. Just try taking the corners much faster then you will see why harder is better.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] MR2 Turbo wheel alignment problems and noise.
There are only 2 things that will cause the inside edge of the tyre to wear like that Too much negative camber Not enough toe in The camber you cannot change. If the suspension is lower than standard it will give more negative camber. But I would think the problem is the toe in. I believe this shoul...
