Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What is the best gearbox to use for high power?

All REV3 boxes have LSD it was still an option on REV2 cars. Best way to check is take a drivshaft out and look in the hole if it has a hex bar running through the hole then it has a LSD. We have just changed a Rev2 box with a hex bar through the hole for a Rev 3 box with LSD. Now the wheels do not...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What is the best gearbox to use for high power?

Hello mate i think 3s Service centre sell these parts you require for your final drive!!!!! :D We sell the final drive package - check our affiliates section. Rev 1 boxes had single synchros and weak selector forks that were prone to bending. Rev 2 onwards had dual synchros and uprated forks. Also,...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Avoid 'QX' ignition coils

THe coil on my REV2 tubbie hasx been on the way out for a while, so I replaced it with one made by "QX components", £25 from my local motor factors. With the new coil installed the car would not start. Stupidly I assumed that I had done something wrong. I checked all the wiring. No spark....

Thanks,
that is what I understand, but is that all? Can the later syncos be fitted into a REV 1 box?
Are the diffs all the same? I have a TRD LSD for a REV 1 I was told but will it fit in a REV 2?

Thanks

[Mk2] [Turbo] What is the best gearbox to use for high power?

I need to get a rebuilt gearbox with LSD and taller diff gears.
I understand the REV 2 and 3 are the best to use.
What is wrong with the REV 1 box and are the 2 and 3 the same?
What are the part numbers for the taller diff gears and what was the model and year of car they come from?

Thanks

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] New style nitrous gauge/controler

Due to heating nitrous bottles you can have failures on the presure regulator and that will make the bottle explode. which could be a small problem lol So been looking for a new gauge and came across. It don't just monitor it also controls the heater and has a built in fuel pressure safety http://i...

I got a boss for my Rev 1 and it would not let the horn work as it was for a Rev 2 and above.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Been told my Head could be cracked ? Need confirmation please!

I had the same problem on my Rev1 and Rev2 when the heater stopped working. It was a leak in the pipe work up to the heater but not enough to see pools of water under the car. Link out the two pipes on the engine and see it that stops the problem.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] !!! REV2 Turbo Mappable ECU !!!

Now that was very clear and it all works as I understand it. Now what I would like to do when the ECU upgrade is avalible is to use the knock input to run and control a water injection system and also nitrous. I still have 100 or so water control units that change the water flow with revs but it wil...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] !!! REV2 Turbo Mappable ECU !!!

Cheers Gersen. Don't know if its been said before but if someone remaps the ecu will they be able to get it to see past 12psi of boost rather than just dumping fuel in or is this a limitation of the AFM? Funnily enough I had this discussion with Jeremy about a week ago. It's a limit of the map. It ...

Oh I did not know it was on a Rev 2. Thanks for that. That may explan one of the problems I have, not sure my TVIS is working right. ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] water/methonal injection kits?

This is another kit from the US. http://water.lovehorsepower.com/ This guy is actually somewhat local to me. Now that look like a very well designed water injection system. With the system up to pressure all the time and the solenoids opening when the water is needed it will be instant water flow. ...
