Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] boost problems with me mr2 t
Check to see if the cars stock boost control valve has been disabled
(this will make the car run at about 7psi)either by being un pluged or having the pipe from the actuator cut and blocked, also could have a boost leak so check clamps, I/C etc also check to make sure the wastgate is not stuck open

Re: rev 3 turbo v evo 8 or 9
Good stuff. I had a go with a black evo8 fq (not sure which), before I had got new intercooler and raised boost, and he pulled away from me, not massive but he was pulling. I would like to have another go now. I think if he hadn't have bounced off he limiter in 2nd for so long we'd have been equal ...

Re: rev 3 turbo v evo 8 or 9
The driver has a lot more to do with these little GP's than people think. You only need to look at a days worth of 1/4 miles times to see how much it can vary. You never really know what your gonna get with an Evo as they start at about 260bhp and go right up to 400bhp in standard trim levels. Then...

rev 3 turbo v evo 8 or 9
Had a traffic light grand prix moment with either and evo 8 or 9 (look the same from the front to me) He was following me off of the motorway up to the traffic lights when he pulled up along side me in the lane that turns right back onto the motorway we'd just come off of so guessed he was going to ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Still got boost troubles.
I think i'll take your advice and return the car to stock. I see you just need to plumb the boost pipe from the turbo to the actuator and then the other pipe from the actuator to the vsv. Assuming this is just unplugged and not cut does it just plug back in and take the other boost pipe?. Is there ...

rev 3 turbo vrs M5 V10
BMW glued to my bumper whilst going down the fast lane of the motorway, I thought I'd floor it to shake off this idiot in his diesel BMW only to hear this screaming noise as he flew past me on the inside lane, which is when I realised it was an M5  What a lovely sound it made too as it disappea...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Still got boost troubles.
Cheers for all the pointers. I removed the pipe from the turbo to the greddy unit and it has no damage. I haven't got time today to replace it but i think at the weekend i will replace all the pipes for new ones and change the crappy spring clips for jubilee ones. Then i'll repeat the process again...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Still got boost troubles.
Ok, i'll try and check all the hoses for leaks. Whats the best way to check, soapy water and look for bubbles? The problem is how do you get pressure to build up if the cars stationary, will it have enough pressure just from reving the engine? just try replacing that hose from the turbo to the actu...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Still got boost troubles.
This morning i removed the little bung from the back of the unit and swapped the pipes around as per your reply. I warmed the car up and then set the greddy unit to your advised settings. Floored it in 3rd and by the time i had hit 4.5K rpm i had hit the fuel cut on the car. The greddy unit showed ...

Re: Toyota power run - Revivals 18 April
Will they be checking our AFR and checking for DET ? Apologises but what does that mean ? Normaly a dyno operator will check if the car is running lean or rich by checking its AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) it's measured by inserting a wideband O2 sensor into the exhaust tail pipe. DET is detonation (a resul...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Still got boost troubles.
Firstly, have you removed the plastic bung from the Greddy solonoid unit (it's in the NC port?) Secondly you've got it plumbed in wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!! The vacum pipe from the turbo nipple should go to the 'NO' port on the greddy solonoid and the vacum pipe from the left hand side of the actuator shoul...
