Re: Parking.

as long as you pay for two car parking spaces, you can straddle two lanes if you like! One of my old punto buddies used to do that in the Huntingdon Sainsburys car park - park diagonally across two lanes as the spaces were far to small. He paid twice, put two tickets in the window and walked o...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] [Help] Car Not Going Quick as it Should [Help]

Am I right in thinking that if it is a rev1/2, the car automatically retards (i think) the ignition and overfuels = bad running and slower.

Does sound like you have a leak somewhere though...

Ok, squint your eyes together - no, the red you are seeing is wrong, you do still need to see but if you look at the picture from the back drivers side (45 degrees ish)...

Re: big manley astra

Astras....oh dear! I visited a friend that lives in Lincoln about 3 months ago and went out for a drive in his car, MR2 N/A. Now, it's nice and sunny and mark is a great driver and so was driving swiftly down some back roads when a red/crappy red/pink astra (94 -96 ish i think) came to a junction th...

Re: adjusting window to stop higher up?

The goo they use to stick the trim protector on can be re-stuck when refitting. Simply use a new sharp stanley blade to gradually cut the goo in half as you peel off the plastic trim.

MR2's - Tubby Winter driving - Please bear with me...

Ok. Please bear with me on this... If I'm correct, Tubbys got LSD's as standard from Rev3. So here's the question, what are they like to drive on Ice/compacted Snow? I will be buying one in January (due to bonus :D ) but the road I live on NEVER gets gritted when it snows and so compacted snow/ice b...

Re: MR2's rivals?

This is one of those topics. If you are looking for driving fun or involvement, a Boxter may be "slow" but I recon the stig driving a rev1+ would still be slower than in a boxter around the Top Gear track (if it was all fair and legal) . Although not anywhere as fast, an MX-5 (gen 1...

Just for the record, is your coolant going down? Any wierd smells in your car? I had a heater matrix go on my old fezzy and that caused the car to fog up rapidly.
Check your rad fluid.

Excell London - Sunday 24th September

1st spot/ Yellow MR2 turbo following a red MX-5 near to lorry waiting bays. Turned around and gave it some going up the road...sounded very nice :) 2nd spot/ Very amusing this one. Anyone who has been there lately knows that you have to now pay to get out of the carparks. WELL, at about 7:30 ish, a ...

Re: [Mk2 Turbo] Singing Sisters - twin dumpvalves

You need to be sure the boost is of enough pressure to actually open the bov's. Think you may be a little confuzzled. Didn't think that BOVs were any different but dumpvalves are opened by a vacume line going to the top. When throttle is lifted, it pulls the piston away from the valve inlet causing...

[Mk2 Turbo] Singing Sisters - twin dumpvalves

Ok. Firstly, I am looking to buy a tubby in the next 3 or 4 months and so I'm doing my homework! Please correct me if I'm wrong. A dumpvalve (or BOV) is used to reduce turbo stall on gear changes and de-acceleration by eliminating pressure in the compression system. I used to own a Punto GT (before ...
