Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 20HP Resistor Component Mod

Hi, I just bought a £5 resistor from http://www.performance-mod.co.uk that is supposed to give up to 20hp increase in power by tricking the ECU into thinking the air temperature is cold so more fuel is pumped in. I know this has been resolved already...but thought the ECU retards boost anyway below...

Re: [All] [Generic] Marangoni tyres...?

Don't normally make a habit of it but I had a peek in redline magazine to see what I was (or not as the case was) missing and they had some competition that offered these tyres as a prize.

Would be interested.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Dump Valve Chatter????

I had two bailey dvs on my old punto gt - one by the turbo (6") and the other next to the engine/throttle inlet (3"). Those used to "chatter" to each other with different volumes and tones. As it was ridding the system of boost quicker, I never saw any problem with it... Did soun...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Std "Boost Guage" on dash - electric or vacume?

can you replace it with a proper electrical guage with all the boost levels or is it still better to get a vac one?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Std "Boost Guage" on dash - electric or vacume?

Hi. Bought my first Rev3 tubby today. I'm so happy but it felt considerably more rapid than my neighbours. So, I would like to buy a boost guage to check as I couldn't see any boost altering devices... My question is: Is the dash guage a vacume fed beastie or is it electrical? I have a vac...

MR2s travelling eastbound near wellingborough on A45

Saw a black Mk2 turbo - possibly a rev1/2 but had rev3+ tail lights. That was being followed by a silver Mk1.

I was just on my way back from NVI...amazing how many MR2s you notice once you buy one

BUMP!!!

I'm going to go and buy tomorrow so if someone could please help me, it would be appreciated. On the other side of things, if you have a better test that doesn't include going towards a ton, please post it so I can read and use.

Many thanks (hopefully)

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] A favour please peeps - In gear acceleration - Rev 3>

Cheers for the reply Leeroy. I don't have the car yet but I'm just looking for ballpark figures that when on the test drive I can "compare" to. If when comparing the car is 2 seconds off, then there is somthing wrong. I would like to motorway it but it is a big distance away from where the...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Tyre sizes for 16s at rear

Hi. I've read through search for 12 pages and lost the will to live so will accept flak and ask here. Are 205/45(Fr) and 225/45(Rr) tyres on 16s a good combination or really should they be a tad wider at the back - maybe 235/45 R16's? The previous two are +/- 5mm from std in rolling radius. Haven't ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Air Con re-gassing

So (stick with me on this), it's only Rev1/2s that have this problem? And if not, is it a fairly easy exchange to "new" gas?
Cheers for the reply.

[Mk2] [Generic] Air Con re-gassing

Hi. My neighbour has a Rev 2 turbo with aircon/climate control. He mentioned while talking that the gas used in earlier ones can not be now re-filled because it contains CFCs - he works for VW in St Ives and Toyota and various local Regassers wont touch it either! Now, 2 questions... 1) Is this infa...

[All] [Generic] HID headlight upgrade kits...has anyone else read this?

Hi all. I know there are a few group buys on at the moment for kits but saw an article in one of the car mags at tescos...something like Autocar etc (cant remember the name - sorry). Basically from the article, it is ok to buy HID kits but illigal to fit them even if they are E marked! I kid you not...

111mph traps is not 389bhp.

Considering a stock ct20b can do 110mph traps with 1.25bar.

Please explain this to me...traps?

Re: Crashed mr MR2 turbo

Sounds like a bit of a bad one. If the round about was near the petrol station chances are they'd be fuel spilt on the it, with you picking some of it up on your tyres. Where on the A66 was it? Everytime a crash happens its because there is diesel/black ice on the road. Lets just leave it at that. ...
