Re: IMOC trackday

all drilled discs seem to do that at some point. But even with the start of cracks like that, i've never seen a disc go like mine did.

Drilled discs are just a consumable, much like brake pads.

Re: [All] [Generic] Changed brake pads & now it feels like the brakes are constantly on??HELP PLEASE

Not sure anyone is being particularly harsh on him? As for blindly following the guide, if it is the OC guide, then there wouldn't have been any hammering involved, if he followed the guide. If you're not confident working on your car then brakes are probably best avoided tbh. Also, if he'd posted ...

Re: IMOC trackday

You certainly know that with drilled discs you run the risk of them cracking. But spoon is a quality brand and these were decent discs with curved (as opposed to the normal straight) cooling vanes and hence the additional internal surface area and airflow through the disc. I wouldn't have expected t...

Re: IMOC trackday

Rockingham is a great track. I arranged a s2000 club day there a few months back and had a brilliant day. The wet grip facility was newly opened that day too and way great fun. I spent an hours or so spinning around on it trying to drift around the horseshoe and made myself feel sick :D Only problem...

Re: [All] [Generic] Changed brake pads & now it feels like the brakes are constantly on??HELP PLEASE

In the "how to change brake pads" it says use a hammer if its stiff??? Have a look if you dont belive me i just followed instructions it gave me?? I'd like to see a link to that how to. I've done a search on here and can't find any how to that refers to using a hammer to push back the pis...

Thanks for the quick replys :) you used ...

which basically means the other drivers weren't trying or didn't use VTEC properly.

Re: run in with S2000

But a stock S2000 (as most are) would be a good match for a Rev1/2 MR2, really coming down to driver skill. But I'd expect the Honda to win under braking/handling. Generic modded vs generic modded, as usual is not predictable and as usual not worth talking about. I'd agree that a standard rev1/2 tu...

Yes. Hits VTEC at 6k revs and then you've got the power band until it hits the limiter at 9200 revs.

Re: run in with S2000

Not quite true. Its difficult and very expensive to get any power increase out of them unless you start looking at supercharging etc. They're pretty highly tuned engines already. You can get an increase further down the power curve, but not really increase the top end power signficantly. Certainly n...

Re: Is the MR2 Mk2 any good as a trackcar / racecar?

I know a lot of people who have done trackdays for years, amongst the hardcore trackdayers they all drive caterhams. So i think its the natural conclusion you come to after a few years of trackdays. Then again you also know a number of people who have done trackdays for years and drive compromised ...

i span my old mr2 turbo within 3 weeks of ownership, which must be about 7 years ago now. I was 24 years old and had some experience of rear wheel drive cars, but had no experience of anything mid engined or anything anywhere near as powerful as an mr2 turbo. roundabout by a petrol station, pouring ...

the howard bit being the instructor was hearsay so i don't want to tell tales on him if he wasn't the instructor. I was going to tell jonny, but i saw the vx pull up outside the garage where you picked up the instuctors and saw someone get out and assumed it was an insturctor. Then someone else who'...
