Reason I ask is I am ordering new ones for my tubby but the local motor factors cant differentiate and seems to think the na and turbo are the same but dont want to order them if different. ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] real BAD misfire
following on from my earlier post - just approached motorway and the car had a slight misfire at 4k rpm so thought it would be ok to drive me home 20 miles. Did about 5 miles and it got worse. So much so that when applying a little bit of acceleration the car was spluttering / misifiring really bad ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Really odd issue
Seeing as there isnt a 'bonkers' section i'll just put this here. Went to start my rev3 turbo today after a month or so and I leave the battery out of the car. Put it back in but wrong way round  it sparked then I put it the right way in and went to start the car - all good. Went for a small r...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Alternator - How to ?
After succesfully replacing a leaky rocker gasket and servicing the car myself  [thanks to the advice on this site and a few guides] I now need to change the alternator on my MR2 turbo and was wondering as a novice is it worth attempting or leave it to the local garage to do. Is there are how ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev3 Turbo Cam Gasket Question
I am planning on replacing my cam cover gasket tomorrow [before the football :D ] and have read a couple of guides. My question is does the new gasket need sealing all the way round the cam cover or not? I read the parts that are 'raised up' require some sealant where the cams meet but wasnt sure ab...

Re: Starting a car after 5 years stood..
Tried grounding it and the gauge didnt shift at all. I take it the sensor in the pic below is the temp sensor [its the only one I could find with s single wire]. Although when I searched ebay for a replacement the sensors had a different plug section. Is the one in my car not original Toyota as the ...

Re: Starting a car after 5 years stood..

However a few more jobs noted / to do. 1 - The temp gauge doesnt move at all. 2 - Oil was burning off in the engine bay. POssibly cam seal as plugs were soaked in oil b...
