Won't start
Hi all, my rev 2 turbo won't start. Any ideas? I parked up at home and needed to pop out again a mins later and suddenly she won't fire up. The starter motor turns over just fine. Thanks

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] One headlight won't pop up
Thanks for the tip. I've isolated the problem to a broken connection between pin 5 of the blue box connector and pin 2 of the motor connector, the green wire. I'd guess it's extremely unlikely the wire itself would fail, so I'm assuming it's the contact in one of the two connectors. I guess the only...

[Mk2] [Turbo] One headlight won't pop up
Hi all, one of my headlights has stopped popping up. For a while it would intermittently work, but now it no longer moves at all (drivers side). I disconnected both motor units, and I've tested the drivers side motor on the nearside, and the motor unit works fine, so it's not that. I've tested the c...

Re: Thruxton is awesome!
Yeah the lines were indeed better with the MK3, and I only had 15 or so laps in total with the Turbo so there was definitely time still on the table. I was planning to lower the ride height on the coilovers but the engine issue cut my running short. I'm sure with an optimised setup it would be bette...

Re: Thruxton is awesome!
Returned to Thruxton on Thursday with my friends MK3 roadster, and he was kind enough to share the driving. Obviously less power than the Turbo, but she's awesome on the brakes and very nimble! Got home and put together a side by side video comparison between the two. The MK3 is actually quicker thr...

Re: Oil explosion at Thruxton
Just to report back. I've barely used the car since but it runs fine and I'm still clueless as to where the oil literally sprayed from. Obviously there's a lot coating the sump and gearbox and it appears to have sprayed upwards into the engine cover, but I've still no idea where from. :-k Edit: And ...

Re: Oil explosion at Thruxton
Thanks shinny! Martin: Yeah I need to take a closer look underneath which I've not managed to do yet, been too busy. I've got MeisterR ZetaCRD+'s fitted. I was planning on lowering the ride height and increasing the damping, I know it's moving about in the video but tbh it felt really balanced just ...

Thruxton is awesome!
Unfortunately my Turbo did have troubles - /viewtopic.php?t=193067 But during the laps I did get in, wowser! Vid: youtube . com /watch?v=HthSzm89IMc You definitely need your brave pills. For the first couple of laps I was pretty tentative, and with most of the circuit being quite open and flat and w...

Oil explosion at Thruxton
Hi all, Took my Turbo for it's 2nd trackday under my ownership on Friday to Thruxton, and while it was awesome, I only got about 15 total laps of running. See the video: /watch?v=HthSzm89IMc (put after youtube . com in address bar) So after my friend Rob left the car and I immediately went out again...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Intercooler fan issues
Hi, I've owned the car for about a year now and since I've had it it's had issues with the intercooler fan. Basically if the engine gets warm enough to warrant running the fan, I get an engine overheating warning light on the dash, but the fan remains off. However, if I then turn the engine off and ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch won't disengage
Thanks for the reply. I think it's probably something within the clutch itself, because the slave pushrod stays extended when the clutch is held, and total movement is around 15-20mm (at a guess). Time to take it to a garage I guess.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch won't disengage
Hi all. I have an issue with my clutch, it won't disengage. The first time it happened I was at some traffic lights and suddenly I was unable to select 1st gear, so had to start restart the engine in gear and rev-match to get home. I then bled the clutch and this fixed things, so I assumed either th...

Re: Blyton Park onboard
Ouch, sorry about the engine! :( Yellowstuffs were good, definitely a big step up from oem pads, but I still had brake fade when I went really hard for several laps. I blame the old discs I'm still running though, they judder a lot and need replacement! Tyres were quite good to be honest, had Kumho ...

Blyton Park onboard
Hi all, Lucky enough to get myself a '93 Rev 2 Turbo a few months ago. Lightly modded, nothing serious (fujitsubo exhaust, intake, teins) and needed a good amount of tlc. Have gotten through a few important servicing jobs with her but a lot of work still needed to bring her to the condition she dese...
