Re: Cuts out after a few seconds of idling *SOLVED*

The coolant temp sensor (The green one) puts the efi system in closed loop. My understanding of it is the 02 sensor is not active untill the coolant sensor tells it to. Thus bad fuelling can cause bad starting or running conditions. however i would follow your fault codes first. I don't believe a fa...

Re: Knock sensor code 52

At that money and back up from tbc parts its worth a shot! bad timing is the most likely cause of knock. but did you test the timing with the wire in the correct diagnostic ports? the engine management light should be flashing before you take the timing readings. Al-sw20 isnt wrong about the Ats sen...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Anyone using a deep dish steering wheel?

Mine is a Momo MC7728 boss, OMP Corsica 350mm. Specs for both will probably be on their respective websites :thumleft: Exact setup I have, bar mine is a 330mm and Suede with yellow stitching, love it, along with my Corbeau fixed buckets it gives an amazing feel. wouldn't have a flat steering wheel ...

Re: Knock sensor code 52

Tcbparts sell a denso knock sensor for £45+vat Is this likely to be worse than the Toyota one? They tell me they've sold hundreds and they've not had a problem, even for people running higher power, just seems quite cheap compared to the rest Personally i would rather buy a second hand genuine one ...

Re: Knock sensor code 52

There is mixed reviews about yhe ats sensor its worth a google! A few of us on here have the ats sensor and hasnt been a problem. But in comparison its bomb proof. My issues were code 52 (even after i bought a genuine sensor) that was faulty from toyota at £140 the ats was about £85 but i got done b...

Re: Cuts out after a few seconds of idling *SOLVED*

probably best to check plug on distributor and maybe do a continuity check on the cables between distributor and ecu. the BGB has info on how to test the gapping etc with a feeler gauge on the pickup sensor inside the dizzy cap. sometimes in may just need a clean if your super lucky :-k

Re: Knock sensor code 52

May be an idea if you know which one you need. Rev1 has a different plug and rev 2 and rev 3 have different part numbers. i have had knock sensor issues for ages. just got mine sorted with an ATS Racing knock sensor. if you cant find one give trevor a bell at TCB parts they do non genuine ones but i...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev3 cams in a rev 2 head?

Your a gent thanks rob :thumleft:
When we inspected the cams they have a very poor manufactures mark on them which BC cams had told us isnt unusual but did match general shape of logo etc.
Will measure them up on weekend and hopefully that will confirm.

Cheers again for your advice

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev3 cams in a rev 2 head?

Thats awesome thanks rob :thumleft: gonna educate myself in cams this weekend! Im assuming there is a way to do it without? I hope it...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev3 cams in a rev 2 head?

I may be wrong but I vaguely remember that the Rev 1/2 cams are actually a slight upgrade over the Rev 3+ cams. May also be talking complete rubbish though so don't take my word for it, might just be Rev 1 NA cams into a Rev 3 turbo head or something like that :-k other way round, rev 3+ turbo cams...
