how many miles had the engine done? The engine shouldn't blow unless it wasn't looked or running silly boost and not enough fuel, I am guessing the latter? IF it IS Dave's car, then it had 105,000 (engine had about 80,000) on it when I sold it to him 2+ years ago and was quite happy running ~10PSI....
