[Mk2] [Turbo] Side Mount Intercooler inlet temps back to back
Has anyone ever tested 'uprated' side mount coolers against the standard cooler back to back regarding inlet temps, and/or pressure drops? Been discussing intercoolers a lot recently and there are a lot of different thoughts! Would be great if anyone has tested a cheaper cooler (like JP Performance)...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Error 52 Knock Sensor
Right I have finally got it all sorted tonight!! As above I have not had any problems with the knock sensor after replacing with a genuine sensor, and new screened wiring earthed to the bulkhead next to the ECU. Even though I wasn't getting any codes I still had a massive hesitation at about 5000 rp...

Rev 3 rear light clips, available to buy?
I have taken my drivers side rear light out as it was loose. Turns out that the plastic frame is cracked so I am going to attempt to glue it tomorrow. The clips that sit on the back of the light (library picture below) have broken. Is there anywhere I can buy these? Done a bit of searching but had n...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Error 52 Knock Sensor
Did you resolved this? Mine overboosted the other week to 1.36bar, fuel cut kicked in and the ECU brought up the code 52 knock sensor error. I reset the ECU but each time I blipped the throttle (at standstill) it would bring up the error code again. I've since fitted a new Denso knock sensor (which...

Re: Leftovers - Android OBD1 Group Buy
I have ordered mine direct and is now on it's way. He has just made a batch of 12 22pin versions (one of which is now mine) so probably worth speaking to him about batch size if the group buy is going ahead. I have taken myself off the list. 1. SteveH 2. l1ca 3. Dariunas 4. Angpozzuto 5. Dylan5084 6...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Error 52 Knock Sensor
Finally managed to get the pressure test done today, tester was a bit worse for wear so needed some adjustment to the adaptor to work correctly! Side vents proved very useful for this test! http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e51/benfacer/IMAG02851_zps20gcozxh.jpg All seems OK..... Static is about 39p...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Error 52 Knock Sensor
What makes you think it's the fuel pump? I'm not convinced. I am thinking it is the fuel pump as it seems like it is struggling at higher revs/demand. The problem now occurs at about 5500 rpm, and when running in limp mode it seemed OK (less boost, less demand). The ignition system (arm, cap and le...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Error 52 Knock Sensor
I am coming to the same conclusion androo007
I have managed to borrow a fuel pressure tester so will see what it's doing...
I have heard the fuel pump change is a b#tch of a job but would rather go through that than a blown engine!!

Rev 3 NA and Turbo sumps the same?
I am looking for a replacement sump for my Rev 3 turbo and have come across one for sale that looks really good. The guy selling it says that it is from a JDM turbo, and he has had it fitted to his UK N/A (without the level sensor) I was under the impression that the N/A and turbo sumps where differ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Error 52 Knock Sensor
I was under the impression that the Rev 3 was less sensitive to octane rating? I have been running it only on Shell Vpower anyway just to be on safe side!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Error 52 Knock Sensor
Had some development today! Got my sparky friend to run in a new cable with me which initally didn't make any difference. I had my origional knock sensor fitted at the time. I changed this to the pattern sensor on my lunch but this didn't make any difference  When I got home I had the ECU apar...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Error 52 Knock Sensor
No unfortunatly I am very new to the MR2 scene so don't think I know anyone with a ECU I can borrow.
Anyone on here from the Leeds area that could lend me a ECU to try? I am happy to travel a bit and try it at your location.

Re: Leftovers - Android OBD1 Group Buy
Is this going ahead? I contacted Jean-françois before I saw this thread as I wanted one of these asap. He is currently making the next batch so it is going to be a couple of weeks until they are available. I mentioned to him about this group buy but he has not got back to me yet. If this can be orga...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Error 52 Knock Sensor
Hi Nic thanks for the reply. No there is no boost gauge fitted. It did feel fast on the test drive, but I have had a diesel for a while now so that isn't a surprise! I do have a boost gauge that I could fit, but cannot get full boost due to limp mode (maybe at lower revs). I might try this but it do...
