Re: Boot Light Stays On - Switch Location?
Yea I have removed the bulb connector on the LH side of the vehicle.
I am asking about there being a switch somewhere to only activate the boot light when the boot is open - surely it isn't on all the time by design.

Boot Light Stays On - Switch Location?
Afternoon everyone, I have traced the battery drain on my MR2 down to the boot light staying on. The drain reduces from 310mA to 60mA when removing the bulb and I have confirmed it is staying on by putting my phone in the boot and recording it on video. Not having a boot light isn't a huge issue but...

I was behind you, flashed as I turned off but it was pitch black so I doubt you could see I was in an MR2 too!

Re: Annoying Squeak
Just to close this thread out... I had a look into sorting this out on Sunday, took the disc off and there were nicks out of the edge of the disc, and dirt/grease embedded in the braking surface. I smoothed the perimeter of the disc with a file, used 240 grit sandpaper on the face of the disc and cl...

Thanks Rory, I really like the look of them.
They're pretty heavy though so worth keeping that in mind!

Looks great.
I'd be tempted to go for red calipers for extra speed.
Is it a toyota motor?

Wow that's quite a group. I'd be very interested in having a look at a 2GR.
I'll definitely turn up and might sign myself up if the weather's good and money's alright. I'll have to check how much tread my R888s have on them.... must be getting pretty low now!

If you're offering a ride round in your tubby I'd definitely be keen for that! On the evenings they charge £10 for a passenger, presumably it's more for the full day.
Also congrats on being featured on pistonheads the other day.

I'm in full house deposit save mode so won't be on track but I'll head down and say hi if people are going to this, I'm only 20 mins away.

Re: Rev 5 Turbo for sale on eBay
You guys have keener eyes than me. Now that the mirror repeaters have been pointed out they do look rather bodged! You see a lot of barried MR2s around and sometimes you wonder what people were thinking... but for this one the mods are so strange. Has anyone before even considered moving the aerial ...

Rev 5 Turbo for sale on eBay
Hi everyone.... is there a reason no one has bought that black rev 5 turbo on three spokes that's been sitting around on eBay for a long long while now... Looks pretty straight to me apart from the dodgy seat covers and as rev 5 turbos are so rare I thought someone would've bought it by now for 7k. ...

Only happens when rolling, dipping clutch or being on/off power has no effect on noise.
Noise doesn't seem to happen in reverse though.

Annoying Squeak
Hi everyone, after changing my clutch I have an annoying squeak at low speed. It is related to wheel speed, but the frequency is much faster than wheel speed. I'd guess about 2-3 times per wheel rotation. Sounds like it's coming from the rear right. I'm not really sure what this could be. I'm hoping...

Re: INSURANCE car wrote off. now what? ?
I know this is very long winded but bear with me! I have no experience with Footman James but when I was hit into last year Adrian Flux wanted to write my car off without even looking at the damage "due to its age" (it's a 1999 NA). I ended up dealing with the other party's insurance (Tesc...

Re: rear brake pads - discontinued from Toyota now?
I track mine on pagids and don't have any issues unless I stay out for 20 mins+ at which point they quickly become useless. They're more than adequate unless you're racing.
Can't say much about 'bite' as I've used them for years and can't remember what other pads feel like!

I have been away for almost a year doing various things so haven't seen much of the car... Since I've been back have had the sills cut out and repair panel welded in: https://imgur.com/GxYeLgt.jpg https://imgur.com/glTd3AS.jpg https://imgur.com/mBIGjhe.jpg https://imgur.com/bLEasao.jpg Car is probab...

Re: Replacement Mr2 sills - ball park cost
I've had my sills replaced using the panels you've linked. Quality seemed fine to my untrained eye. Paid £325 to a mate to fix on top of part cost.
