Re: [Mk2] [NA] Overheating - diagnosis options? Mk2 N/A

What I would do. And I'm no expert so this is just friendly advise. 1. Bleed the cooling system.....With the car cold and the coolant cap removed, remove the frunk panel to reveal the heater bleed plug, attach a clear plastic pipe, elevate and secure to bonnet. Remove radiator top plastic cover and on...

If that boot has split on the track rod end, its only a matter of time before it wears out and does knock. Advise do it sooner than later.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] N/S/F suspension area problem.

Yeah possibly, but as in my first post, do the tests. Idealy you want another person giving the wheel a good tug whilst you underneath looking and feeling the joints with your hand. Also check your anti roll bar mounting points. Might be worth turning your attention to the rears also as it can be mi...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] N/S/F suspension area problem.

It's possible it could still be drop links, you need the front jacked up and suspension hanging to do any accurate diagnosis. With the front up grab the wheel top and bottom and apply force as tho to rock too and throw, do this also side to side hands 3 and 9 o clock on the wheel. You're basically f...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Which induction/filter?

When I got my 2nd mr2, I couldn't wait to get that induction noise I had on my first. I loved that bottom end whistle when breathing on the throttle, and the throaty roar at the top end. I fitted a K&N 57i induction kit and within a month I'd taken it back off and went back to stock. It created ...

[Mk2] [NA] Gearbox selector bushes

I'm looking into changing the two gear selector cable bushes on the gearbox end, but I'm having trouble finding replacement parts from the usual places I use. Are these Toyota dealer only parts and if so does anyone know the part numbers and a price?

[Mk2] [NA] Fuel gauge problem

I updated my clocks for white dial Lockwood a couple of weeks ago. I also fitted some led backlights to give a brighter look. I understood there was no need to remove the needles, so carefully cut out the old dials, but when doing the fuel gauge, I must have caught the needle and it came off. No bot...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] ACIS problem

All Vac lines are ok from what I can see, no signs of cracks perishing etc. The acutator and pushrod all work fine from moving them manually so I assume (unless the connecting rod operating the butterflys is broken) that the valves are moving. My main concern was that the acis wasn't moving when par...

[Mk2] [NA] ACIS problem

I'm not 100% sure if the acis system is working as I seem to lack a bit of top end power, it seems to hit a flat spot at 5k+. With the car stationary the acis actuator is being sucked and is acting on the pushrod but reving the car 5k+ the actuator doesn't move, is this normal? should the acis syste...

[Mk2] [NA] Alarm help please.

Hi I have a 10th anniversary rev3, and over the past couple of days I seemed to have developed an alarm fault. The other evening the alarm sounded for the first time for no reason. I was glad in one way as I've only owned the car a couple of months and was wondering if the alarm siren worked as earl...

the engine bay temp sensor is on the underside of the engine lid, black pointy thing, make sure you have it connected up otherwise as dazzz says the fan will run constantly.
