Re: Track day wheels/tyres advice
I've got r888s on my stock 15s (although I've not tracked it yet, waiting for the weather to get better) I've got medium compounds 195 on the front and 215s on the rear. Last year I took the stocks to the track with the non brand tyres it came with (195 front and 205 rear) so I'm hoping the wider re...

Re: Bigperm Mr2 ebay
someone once said that yellow turbos only went up to Rev3 (a user on here was looking for one about a year or so ago) If thats true, its either an NA turned into a turbo or not a Rev4 ... either way I dont think its worth the asking price (coming from someone who currently owns a yellow rev3 turbo) ...

its still worth double checking the drop links mine were slightly loose (I was able to get a few more turns using the ratchet), tightened them back up and never heard anything after.

Re: Alternator won't go back i
Check the continuity of the black/yellow wire going from the alt connector to connector EB1 in the engine bay fuse box. Also Check that the pins have good contact. This, and also make sure your immobilizer (if you have one) is switched off, as it doesnt let the correct voltage through otherwise ......

I'm sure brands hatch has a 92db limit, I was fine ... didnt trip it once.
Mods - apexi air filter, decat, ebay japspeed style exhaust.
I did however keep baffles in the boot just in case I was stopped - cost me about £40, but good to use for early starts in the morning too

Re: Getting a 3rd gear crunch after changing clutch slave cylinder
I had this issue when upshifting into third, I just removed my floor mat which probably let my clutch travel in enough to disengage properly.

Re: Resetting pistons to restore handbrake (after brake pad change)
Thanks guys will give this a go over the weekend, how would I know if I need new calipers? The car brakes fine, but when previously rewinding the pistons the driver side rear caliper was tough to wind in. Since then I've changed the handbrake cables too. So I'll give the above suggestions a go, but ...

Resetting pistons to restore handbrake (after brake pad change)
Hi guys, So I changed my pads about a year ago... And didn't reset the rear pistons with the 180 degree step. For the last year I've had no handbrake but thought its time I sort this out. I wanted to ask how the 180 degree step would work now because obviously the pads are worn. So winding the pisto...

Re: Checking shifter cables for wear - popping out of 4th
could you not unblot them at the box end and feel for drag in the movement? I very much doubt it's the cables causing the box to jump out of gear. Could prove it by parking at the top of a long hill. Select 4th and then remove the cable attachment. start car with clutch down, roll down hill then li...

Re: Checking shifter cables for wear - popping out of 4th
Thanks guys, I've recently rotated the shifter cube.
But will keep a lookout for second hand shifter cables are they the same for a turbo/na and are there any differences between the revisions?

Re: Rev3+ reverse light bulb change
From what I remember (although its been a while)... I think you open the boot, then above the centre panel there should be two screws, you loosen these so the centre panel comes forward. Once its out, you should be able just unscrew the bulb holder and switch the bulb. Hope that helps and just to be...

It was up on a garage ramp (2 post hydraulic) so the car was level.
Hmm if its 3.8 maybe its not too bad then.
