Something that may have gone unlooked is the spark plug gap and what spark plugs are they, if there the ones with the three electro arms get rid of them.

I know that my throttle body gasket is wrecked and needs replacing but that is not the main issue.. also if i had to replace the vacumm pipes where could I get replacements?

Sorry to bring this thread back up but just wondering if someone can pin point me on my problem. where all still learning haha, where do you think its coming from? gasket maybe? i mean theres only a vac pipe and a gasket... just dont understand why there would now be a air leak?

Hey guys, Basically i decided to take of the part of the inlet to clean the four butterflys up and give it an overall clean and in the hope I could free up the butter flys vavles as they were solid...there was no luck but I put it back on and now when I start the car it goes straight up to 2000rpm -...

gazza, you seem to have to much time on your hands, correcting me and all... if you can read what they guy actually put it was something along the lines of revs at 2000 revs for 5 mins.... NO CAR IN HISTORY SHOULD DO THAT.

quick question!
I have a mr2 mk2 uk revision 2,
what i would like to know is what is the square ish plug right above the throttle postion sensor as when i am running the car and pull it out nothing happens to the revs or anything.

these other two are useless... no luke is wrong your mr2 mk2 is not suppoesed to do that.

hi paul, iv recently had my throttle body off along with the removal of the iscv, the iscs when removed does have a gasket which mine popped out which i just used some silcone to put it back together but i would just take it all out 4 bolts for the throttle body , the afm on the right side of the th...

just an update i have checked for fault codes, and its a (21) oxygen sign / sensor, does anyone know what to check with this fault code, sorry if that sounds dumb.

i dont beleive that exhaust leaking would cause how my idle is acting but my exhaust is leaking all over though and does need sorting tbh

i forgot to add when testing the king lead, use a screwdriver and tape the end and the screwdriver together and place it on the throttle body somewhere and just crank and see if there is a spark, DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

did you take the dizzy of if so check the king lead for spark earth the lead on the inlet somewhere should be able a 1/2 inch spark line, be careful doing it though haha! after that check each ht lead inside where the spark plug is make sure theres no oil leaks, dont bother checking each spark plug ...

sounds strange but take your dizzy cap off and check the rotor arm as i had this same issue and the rotor arm had smashed to peices and wouldnt start.

iv done that also, i do have a cone filter intake and there a air temp sensor just hanging about what is this sensor and is it okay it just hanging about where the cone filter is??
