Anyone know a source of new or reproduction dashboard windscreen demister vents? I've got like 3 sets all cracked in bits etc searched online but can't find any so looking like epoxy may be my only option.
Part numbers are:
55982-17010-22
55981-17010-22
Searched on amayama but no dice.
cheers

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Wheel nut thread engagement
Hey Rob thought you had moved on mate! must be cat B by now >< It's only just about 9 turns, i'm just about to order some steel nuts for it as it had aluminium ones on (ebay is absolutely flooded with them). I don't recall reading anyone fitting longer studs when using R32 wheels although that doesn...

[Mk2] [Generic] Wheel nut thread engagement
What's considered the minimum (safe) amount of thread engagement on wheel nuts?
I'm running Skyline R32 GTST wheels on the front and GTR on the rear and this gives me about 15mm of thread engagement which doesn't seem a great deal.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where can i buy a power steering pump from?
Eurgh I feel like we're getting nowhere here. The power steering system is more complex then that, yeah it might have power to it when stationary but who knows what it is doing when you're driving around (not much by your reports of poor power steering) there is a reason it has its own dedicated 'EC...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where can i buy a power steering pump from?
Not sure what the suzuki swift uses but I know some cars now are assisted by a motor attached to the steering column itself or may actually have a convential power steering pump (not sure how much efficient that is mind).

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where can i buy a power steering pump from?
Unable to comment how how 'soft' it is or isn't without trying it myself. Ok well if it was actually working properly with the direct 12V i'd say your problem is a control issue, as you have just proven the motor/pump electrically (power wise) and mechanically. Odd you don't have any error codes tho...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where can i buy a power steering pump from?
It's ok mate no need for documenting it i'm just a bit sceptical as to what they're 'repairing', i've had 2 of these apart with no signs of wear. The factory? mate these things are twenty years old I doubt you can get new motors now and even then it would be a waste of money it's just a DC motor. Co...

Trying to identify wiring loom trim/body clip
As per the pictures below can anyone identify the part number or equivalent clip for the wiring loom behind the front bumper.
I've looked in the EPC and can't seem to find anything.
cheers.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where can i buy a power steering pump from?
I need to create a thread on rebuilding my power steering rack and motor but in the mean time here is a couple of pics. The vane pump, not sure what is being machined by the mechanic over there https://i.imgur.com/FAPvaAI.jpg and 2 different motor tops, which without modification would be incompatib...

I bet he would if he is convincing people to pay for 'repairs', you are the first person i've heard of having one done.
Anyhow, give the direct power supply and a go and see what happens.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where can i buy a power steering pump from?
Not sure why it needed machining i've never heard of anyone having that done, the ends are rounded slightly are run inside a smooth round spacer thingy.
Anyway if you have changed pumps already its very unlikely both have suffered from the same failure mode.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where can i buy a power steering pump from?
Yeah not sure what they 'repaired' on the vane pump there is nothing to it! i'll post some pics later need to upload off my phone. Also unplug the connectors for the motor as well when you jumper the 12V to it, if you see an improvment with the steering after doing that it's defintely a control issu...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where can i buy a power steering pump from?
Yeah there is no difference between the pumps themselves as in the mechanical part bolted to the motor but there IS a difference between motors. Some have additional wiring which I presume is for current feedback to the ECU. I'm not sure what metric you're using to judge the 'stiffness' there really...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where can i buy a power steering pump from?
So the power steering motor/pump is definitely running? Does the power steering light come on with the ignition they extinguish once the car is started? There is nothing to the physical pump part of the motor/pump assembly, in fact that goes for the whole lot really. Seems odd your steering is 'stif...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Whiteline ARB fitment for handling
I don't have any real advice to offer on the setting up of the ARB but given that it is stiffer you may want to invest in some of the reinforcement plates to stop you cracking the ARB mounts on the chassis.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ohm/voltage reading of fuel sending unit full and empty.
The reason your readings are not accurate is because as it stands the voltage drop across your fuel tank sender (variable resistor) will be 5 volts (if you're using the Dash 2 reference voltage) regardless, it is the only resistor in the circuit so all that changes with fuel level is the current flo...
