[Mk2] [Turbo] Best thing for Oxidised paintwork

Now my cars running Ok I can start to get on with trying to improve a few things. First thing I want to do is to restore the paintwork as its a black car and is suffering from terrible oxidisation and looks white and cloudy in places. What I want to know is can I restore/improve this paintwork and w...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Replacement Aerial

I stupidly reversed out of the garage when it was half open and ripped the aerial off my car yesterday. Looking on ebay there are some replacement universal ones as I am not keen on the large original one, does anyone know which ones are good replacements and fit and work well?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help!!! New MR2 Turbo owner

Worth noting the coil pack was not cracked and looked ok from the outside, which is why I hadn't replaced it and it was somehow retarding the ignition only at certain throttle.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help!!! New MR2 Turbo owner

Its all fixed and running lovely, thanks for everyone's help and advice. After replacing everything I could think of and spending weeks fiddling and stressing with the car it turned out to be £30 part the one part I hadn't replaced. Whoever said Coil Pack was right - took it to pacific works yesterd...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help!!! New MR2 Turbo owner

John who posted earlier on this thread kindly helped me today with the car and took a look. Thanks again John! I had diagnosed the problem slightly wrong its not hesitation but the ignition is cutting when I push full throttle - the car boosts up fine but when you put your foot to far down on the ac...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help!!! New MR2 Turbo owner

I don't know anybody with a MR2 Turbo, so I cant test another coil pack might have to just check it and then replace if necessary.

What am I looking for exactly just cracks in it?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help!!! New MR2 Turbo owner

Ok I will check the coil as soon as I get a chance, is it easy to remove?

What can I do to persuade anyone close to me take a look at the car at some point?

Yeah I wish you could too :(

Do you think it's worth trying a new coil? Or would it be obvious this was faulty when revving the car

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help!!! New MR2 Turbo owner

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me mate .. or coil do you get any miss-firing at all, off or on boost ? I did ask the garage to check for vacuum leaks (but they seem to be incompetent with this car) I could not hear or feel one anywhere. Is it worth replacing the coil as I suppose the hesitation is li...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help!!! New MR2 Turbo owner

Right I really need help with this car now! I have spent another £300 on parts and garage costs - replaced the HKS bov with standard one all new ignition parts and then I picked up the car today and its still the same if not worse! It does drive now but with no power! The hesitation is really bad un...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help!!! New MR2 Turbo owner

Right good news - car is starting replaced plugs, leads and dizzy cap. I still have the hesitation though. I have sourced a new standard blow off valve with re circulation pipe, is this likely to be the cause as the HKS one on there does vent to atmosphere. Was also going to ask if the HKS would be ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help!!! New MR2 Turbo owner

Thing is it was running fine and could drive, apart from hesitation under boost Now it wont run and is not driveable since I have mucked about with it. Wish I never touched it now.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help!!! New MR2 Turbo owner

Right there is a small thin pipe that goes to the throttle but nothing that goes to the air intake, I presume when you say air intake you mean the Air filter area?
