Re: '91 MR2 GT T-Bar in White
Hmm, kind of... Literally had an offer on a house accepted yesterday. It's the double garage, ample parking kind of house we've been after for ages so for the time-being, I'll be holding onto the MR2. But if the sale falls-through any time soon, it'll be available.

Re: Mr2 turbo caliper rebuild kit
I bought a kit off of eBay (possibly BiggRed) and rebuilt some Rev2+ calipers for my Rev1 N/A. Not particularly hard to do (my first brake rebuild) and looked mint after cleaning up and respraying silver. Transformed the braking of my car too. I wouldn't want to tackle the rears though and luckily b...

'91 MR2 GT T-Bar in White
Well it's with a heavy heart that I've got to sell my '91 GT T-Bar but with a house sale in the next couple of weeks and the loss of the ample parking I've become accustomed to, two cars need to go, one of which is the MR2. I was building it to become my fast road/track car but with a baby due withi...

Re: [FINALIZED] "New" Rev1 Turbo Alternator, £40.
Hi JLW, Sorry for the late reply. 1) This is a round plug type, so I'm pretty sure it wouldn't fit a rev3 as I think they have oval plugs. You'd have to change the loom plug to get it to fit. 2)In all honesty, I have no proof other than when it came to me, it was very, very clean (didn't look used) ...

Re: [FINALIZED] "New" Rev1 Turbo Alternator, £40.
Just in case this isn't clear, this will fit cars of a turbo persuasion with the round plug. Won't fit N/A cars.

"New" Rev1 Turbo Alternator, £40.
Guys, I've got an alternator for a Rev1 Turbo sitting in my garage taking up room. Basically, I bought it off a guy on eBay who said he had ordered the wrong type for his G-Limited N/A (needed oval plug, bought round plug) so I bought it from him. It was originally supplied by AAPOldham, so it would...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Which brake hoses to fit ?
I've just fitted a set of Hel lines and upgraded all my brakes to rev2+ on my rev1 NA. The lines I have are the same length for the front and rear but I did notice that the angle of the fitting on the banjo bolt end is straight for two and angled for the other two. I bought my lines loose with no fi...

Re: i need a feedback about mongoose exhaust
I've got one on my Rev1 NA and like it compared to some exhausts I've had on NA's - it's quiet when you want it to be, so for me when I'm driving back from a night shift and don't want to wake the neighbourhood, I can make it almost totally silent with light throttle control. It also cruises really ...

Re: Kiddo's '91 GT T-Bar
Thanks for the comments, yeah it's getting there slowly... Really want the wheels refurb'd now.
I do like the Z4 Pete, goes well, handles well, plus it's fully loaded and the Mrs likes the heated leather, but if I just fancy a drive, I'll get in the MR2!

Time for the fronts...shame as they look so new  http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f398/Eseyear/IMG_2690.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f398/Eseyear/IMG_2686.jpg As the gaps between the spring coils are quite large on the fronts, I loosened the gland nuts off with the struts still on th...

Re: Kiddo's '91 GT T-Bar
Next up was the suspension rebuild. To keep the price down, I went for new shock inserts rather than replace the whole strut (four times..!). With a couple of days booked off work at the end of the week and the weather looking decidedly average, the work began... http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...

Re: Kiddo's '91 GT T-Bar
Well it's been a while..! Basically, the MR2 looked like it was done-for, got replaced by a 3.0 Z4 and spent ten months off the road. I finally decided to sell it, jump started it and took it round the block only to instantly want to keep it! The reason it came off the road was down to a few things,...

Re: Rev1 3SGE Compression Test Results
For coolant loss, start by filling and bleeding the system thoroughly. If you have oe rad then there is a bleed nipple on it you can attach a length of clear tubing on and run it up and hang it from open frunk. Also a bleed nipple in the frunk on the heater valve to do the same. Once all the air is...
