Re: Rev1 Turbo Not Starting - Injector Plug Colour
Turns out NO-ONE can't get the larger grey sensor so upon it sliding out I saw the wire strip that had broken so I soldered it and reused it. It's a boffs but it'll do for now. Turned out it wasn't starting as Id numbered the cylinders back to front. Car starts now :thumleft: Just nd the timing set ...

Re: Rev1 Turbo Not Starting - Injector Plug Colour
The sensors on the coolant tree are green for ect and grey for cold start injector timer switch. Also check all earths are connected especially the one on the intake manifold. You could also quickly check for spark and check fuel is being injected (wet plugs) Cheers mate, all the earths are on and ...

Re: Rev1 Turbo Not Starting - Injector Plug Colour
Assuming the temp sensor only has a spade connector - no need to replace it yet as it is only for the gauge in the dash. 1) Check static timing 2) Check Connector on dizzy housing 3) post up results :-) Balls, another ones broke. The plastic sensor housing(green) closest to the front of the car has...

I'll get it back tomorrow and put everything back together this wks end. You won't regret that, I did not have mine skimmed / refaced after first head fit as mechanic...

Re: Valves Out for Turbo Head Skim?
For the sake of a few hours you'd be as well taking them out changing the stem seals and relapping the valves though. It would be a real waste not to do it. Cheers Sheppy, Ive never had a head off but Im up for doing this. I would have done the stem seals, (even though Im not looking forward to tak...

Re: Valves Out for Turbo Head Skim?
Yes you can leave the valves in place for a head skim. You do need to remove the cams though. :thumleft: The head on the MR2 is quite solid and unlikely to warp. As bob says put a flat face and a feeler gauge on it to assure it is out of spec. :thumleft: Sorted. Ill just leave it as I know bob know...
