Re: Changing acis activation point??
Resonator boxes on an NA do more than just reduce sound. I wouldnt go tearing them off in a such a hurry. I'm not questioning the answer, will believe people more knowledgeable than myself, but I'd be very interested in the physics behind this?? I like to know the how's and whys of what's best for...

Re: Changing acis activation point??
Ok thanks pal, was thinking of just liberating intake decibels, but don't want to make it slower at all for sure.
I've already fitted a k&n cone to the original rubber pipework (just replaced air box with cone) but doesn't really give that intake roar I like so much.

Changing acis activation point??
As per title really, I'm wondering if it's possible to change the revs when the acis system kicks in, to much lower, like about 3 k ish? Thinking because it sounds beautiful when it's open, but I don't want to drive everywhere at 6 grand! And are there any disadvantage to doing it?? Thanks in advanc...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Alternator extremely hot, low charging voltage
So it turns out one of the coils inside the alternator had broken down from hitting the casing (re previous thread about couldn't stop it seizing). Be done in couple a days

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Alternator extremely hot, low charging voltage
I'll go borrow a multi meter tomorrow and get results thanks, it was a cash job so no official receipt but I've used the guy a few times over the years so hopefully he'll re do it again free if it is that.

[Mk2] [NA] Alternator extremely hot, low charging voltage
As per title, suddenly the lights dropped dim and battery meter reading about 11 volts, but didn't continue dropping, just running lower on charge than it should. I have a reconditioned alternator in there, only about 2 months old ish. But when I checked for a loose belt, tension was fine but notice...

Re: Couple questions re top mount change and brake change
Ok, so the bit I'm struggling with is how to get the hub and shock to realign so as to get the carrier bolts in. The hub doesn't seem to want to go low enough, any hints and tips welcome please

Couple questions re top mount change and brake change
Am tackling the top mounts today as soon as I wake up ( work nights :-( ) and have read all the guides, very useful to all who took the time thankyou. Question is, do you finally torque up the top 4 nuts and strut top nut once the car is back on the ground with weight on it, or does it not matter?? ...

Cool thanks bud. The only one I'd found with a google search was from nengun, and have read some pretty crappy things about them.

Re: help please with problem refitting alternator
So finally, it lives again :-D turns out, there was a small crack in the bottom bolt section of the casing, and when tightening the bolt, it was distorting the housing slightly, just enough to stop it spinning. Of course, as soon as it was undone it would spin again which is why it was so hard to fi...

Re: help please with problem refitting alternator
Don't think so, was able to easily put a full half twist into the belt with just a finger and thumb, at the middle point between the two pulleys. Tis what I was always told that would make tension about right.

Re: help please with problem refitting alternator
Ok, so having some problems, please help. As soon as I turn the key, the alternator seizes up. I've had it reconditioned so in theory is as good as new. I install the bracket (3 bolts 2 nuts) then the alternator (2 bolts and tension and plug and earth) so is there something I'm missing. This is gett...

help please with problem refitting alternator
So I'm rejuvenating the mr2 after being parked up for 18 months, alternator had seized so got it out and had it reconditioned. The problem refitting is I can't get the bottom section of the casing into the bracket. It took some 'gentle persuasion' to get it out, but it appears as if the bracket is a...

Re: [FINALIZED] Rev 3 3SGTE engine
I could be interested in this, is it a case of fix the piston ring and then plug and play so to speak? In other words, Does it come with everything needed for a turbo conversion? I don't mind getting the spanners out to fix it but dint want to be chasing/buying loads more bits.
Thanks
Andy
