hi all, have a rev 5 n/a, just fitted my shiny mongoose back end along with a decat pipe today, I knew it would not be as efficient as having a cat in there but oh my god, how smoky?? got a good seal on the joins, but it smokes like crazy! let it tick over for 15 minutes to harden the exhaust paste ...

problem sealing caliper banjo nut thingy
ok, I've changed my front calipers today due to leaky seals, but am having problems getting the banjo bit to seal properly, no matter how tight I've done it into the caliper, it still keeps leaking. it does have the brass/copper? washers on both sides of the bolt, should there be any sort of sealant...

brake pad shims
ok guys, ![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
am replacing my front brakes this weekend
(leaky caliper seals) but one problem, it currently doesn't have any shims between pads and pistons.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
So I have bought them, but don't know which way they go on, serrated one nearest pad or piston?
Thanks people
Andy

door rub strip fixing
As per title,
Do the rub strips on the doors have any clips to fix them on in a specific position, or are they just taped? mine has started catching the wing when opening the door at the front, just want to relocate it couple of mm farther back?

different brake fluid compatibilty
Quick one people, Have read oilman guide to brake fluid and know that I can't use dot 5 on an mr2, or mix with 3,4 or 5.1. My question is, I need to top up with fluid and don't know what's already in there (only bought the car a few months go), are the any adverse effects of mixing 3 with for exampl...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Brake pedal almost to the floor for 20 minutes, then working fine.
did you get this sorted in the end? Just read through the topic, sounds more like to me that you simply boiled the fluid if it went spongy for a while then came back good after it was allowed to sit/cool down??

Re: Recaro sr3 in mkii - sliders?
and if that's not an option, I know many rails have basically a dimple at the rear end, which is what stops it from going further back, basically stops the rear mount from sliding all the way out of the runner. Common mod on a vx220 (used to own one hence this for an example) is to take the runners ...
