[Mk2] [NA] Rev 5 fast road car - Strut options, konis?
Hi everyone. I have a rev 5 as a daily driver and it will shortly be V6'd (rx300 vvti engine) by Paul. The look of the car is stock, lovely condition, original wheels etc and I want to keep it that way. The car has done 165k though and will need sorting out in the handling department. Been there and...

Re: Mk2 2gr supercharged
Nice example Paul, identical to mine. Need to stay away from that one or I'll be asking you to ditch the 1mz!

Re: Question for the V6 boys
Cheers MR2 V6. I'll be doing it myself as I have a workshop with a ramp. I anticipate the 1mz vvti would be in the region of £2-3k, whereas the 2gr, £6-7??

Re: Question for the V6 boys
Cheers Paul, that's good to know. I think it's looking like an rx300 then for me for a couple of reasons. It's a daily driver (I have a turbo weapon in the garage, not an mr2), I want to retain the rev 5 hubs/shafts etc to keep the cost down and there are plenty of rx's out there. Keeping a look out...

Re: Question for the V6 boys
I think it's a toss up between the vvti or the 2gr. If anyone knows of anyone with that 1mz vvti conversion, I'd love to see what it's like really before taking the plunge.

Re: Question for the V6 boys
Looks like an Rx300 it is then. Had anyone done any head work to one of these with good results? Also I've seen a few late camrys. 02, 03 reg. would these be vvti also?

Question for the V6 boys
I'm keeping a look out for a v6 engine for my na Rev 5. I think the 2gr is out of budget. That leaves me with the option of a 3vz from a Camry (cheapest) or 1mz from a rx300 which seem to be 2-3k! Is it worth putting in the extra cash to get the vvti on the 1mz or can the 3vz be just as affective wi...

Re: Comments welcome- bought an sw20 turbo
guessing a v6 would be the safest bet. The noise really appeals to me. I'll do a compression test for now to see if it's worth buying another turbo for it.!how many posts do I need to make before I can show pics?

Comments welcome- bought an sw20 turbo
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum but not new to mr2 ownership, I sold my sonic shadow about 3 years back. Well I got the bug again and took the punt on the above car which some of you may have seen on eBay. I'd post a pic but it says I need to put up more posts. I bought it as a non runner to sort ...
