Re: Opinions on a boost fault?

Is the fault consistent or is it more apparent after a short spell of spirited driving/or take a little time through the course of a journey to become apparent ? If so I would have the down pipe off and check that the cat hasn't shifted or collapsed internally. We had this on the R56 mini's we used ...

Re: [All] [Generic] MR2 Head up display

Looks good mate, you may find that if the difference between the tacho and the HUD is simply a case of the digital HUD being more accurate than its mechanical counterpart. How much is it out by ?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Big end bearings - Toyota or ACL?

just looked up the spec sheet of the ACL bearing, its a damn sight more informative than sellers listings. Their standard size has a wall thickness of 1.488mm which puts it on the boarder of size 1/2. I think I'll give that a go and see what it comes out on the plastigauge http://i940.photobucket.co...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Big end bearings - Toyota or ACL?

That's my thinking when I see respected builders like Pete using them, why should I not, would be good to hear his thoughts. my only concern is the oil clearance as for all of my searching they only appear to be one size yet the toyo ones are 3 sizes, that said the difference in size is minute and m...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Big end bearings - Toyota or ACL?

I'm currently in the process of refreshing my turbo lump before I drop it in and have come to the point of putting in new big end bearings. I was going to just order Toyota standard replacements (std-no.2) but should I just get ACL bearings instead?? I'm inclined to go for oem bearings but so many p...

A customer let me have a go round the industrial estate I work at and it was quick but felt a bit numb that said the Haldex system made it grip like Sxxt to a blanket. Not to my taste but a decent hot hatch

Re: [All] [Generic] MR2 Head up display

sorry mate cant find the original post, but I looked through the manuals for Defis current HUD's the VSD x and VSD concept and both of them use the blue wire as Tachometer, and the Green wire as the speed wire. both signals could be picked up on the back of the instrument cluster in much the same wa...

It looks very similar to a Defi Virtual Super Display, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HUD-Heads-Up-Display-JDM-Mazda-RX7-Honda-Nsx-Toyota-MR2-Mitsubishi-GTO-FTO-RVR-/231593406501?nma=true&si=3lZ%252Frl7a7iicQ98pxhZmz1eP7M8%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 http://www.nengun...

Re: Mk2 2gr supercharged

I am also going to install a bypass switch on the dash to override the ECUs control of the exhaust flap VSV, so i can have it on full bore at idle to scare old women at bus stops and generally behave like a hoonigan. I love this  the work in this is brilliant, that dash cluster alone would dri...

[Mk2] [Turbo] recommendations for clutch pressure plate

Hi guys, I'm part way through sorting out my turbo conversion and I'm looking for a pressure plate for my clutch set up. I already have a re-spline'd friction disk for the S54 gearbox, and turbo flywheel so I just need a turbo pressure plate. I'm struggling to find it sold separately especially as I...

Not to my knowledge both have a life cycle of 3 years, used in mixed metal engines and are a Ethylene-glycol based coolant
