Re: My first mr2, mk2 n/a rescue.

Anyway im hoping to get a few good pointers from you more experienced owners so feel free to speak your mind. Can anyone recommend a good parts supplier in the midlands? I also have a big hole where the stereo head unit should be. How good/easy to find are the original cassette cd changers? I hope w...

Re: My first mr2, mk2 n/a rescue.

Belated welcome to IMOC mate, sounds like a nice little project you have there. Instead of getting it up to scratch then selling and buying a turbo, why not just get it sorted and convert it to a turbo engine? Enjoy, and looking forward to pics. :thumleft: I like things to be standard. each to ther...

My first mr2, mk2 n/a rescue.

Hello everyone. In this thread I will document everything that happens to my 2. The car is a white n/a mk2 rev2 on a K. She was advertised for 900 but I managed to secure her for £700. My aim when searching for a car to buy was to find a low priced car, restore her and have a couple years of fun the...

Re: Help please.

Thanks for the advice.
Would a rev 1 engine slip in as easy as a rev 2?

Sorry if my questions seem silly

Re: Help please.

Cost to rebuild depends on lots of factors and how much you do yourself. Some would argue that it simply isn't worth rebuilding an N/A engine. I would only replace damged parts. Having a sweet n/a engine is enough of a reason for me. I have noticed n/a's are becoming rarer and I think thats because...

Re: Help please.

What are the chances that the previous owner over filled the oil to try and hide a problem :-k that's exactly what I thought, get the oil and filter changed and do a compression test. My thoughts exactly. I had the worse sinking feeling as soon as I seen the dip stick. :( Thanks for the advice. I w...

Re: Help please.

The bits I could feel are like grains of sugar. I think the engine is still good personally with good acceleration and not real worrying sounds. I will give her a service, gives me chance to get intimate. On another note. I have just discoverd some pretty nasty rot in the rear arches. Jobs mounting ...

It did seem to be running well on the way home.

Did you drain some oil and find flecks of metal in the oil .

I felt the bits in the oil on the end of the dipstick.
