Glad you are getting it sorted bud. I know the garage as The Peugeot guy out the back of me, his son works there.
They do have a good reputation.
Of course I understand it was easier just to take it there and get it all done.
Get that bad boy ready for the sunshine

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 2 suspension refresh
Interesting, I had a chat with a guy earlier who was a a garage in Cheyney Manor?? Asking where to get shocks for a turbo as Toyota couldn't supply any. What arm are they on about? It doesn't make sense.. 2 bolts on bottom of shock, 1 arb link and 3 nuts at the top. If you need a chat Mark, you have...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 2 suspension refresh
Lol I know coilovers have their place and some are very good. Fine if doing lots of track days etc but in my opinion you don't need so many settings if being used on our crappy dirty roads. I've fitted loads of sets of coilovers of various quality. Most customers love em. I'm an old git now (40) I l...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 2 suspension refresh
Due to my rev 2 turbo failing the mot on one rear shock I've decided to get the rest of the suspension refreshed before the summer. It's got black bilsteins on it at the Mo so what would you guys suggest I refresh while I'm doing them and what will I need? Just suspension components please as done ...

It'll prob go off after you hit a bump or two. Likely its just stuck in the lowest position.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Intermittent clutch slipping
If you bleed the clutch, the mc still returns to its original position without the fluid coming back. I can see what you are saying though but its hard to explain.
Wish I could see the car coz i'd be interested to see why it is slipping.
I look forward to an update.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Intermittent clutch slipping
There is a spring to help return the clutch pedal and in the master cylinder a spring will help push the piston back. I'm not sure that you would feel it through the pedal. I take it the pedal feels completely normal when clutch slip occurs?

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Intermittent clutch slipping
Just get under the car and tap with a hammer and drift to make sure the driveshafts are seated as far as they can go in.
Its more likely to be slave faulty, hose not allowing fluid back or clutch at fault but worth a 2 min look to confirm.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Intermittent clutch slipping
I had a strange problem with the clutch on my last mr2 when I collected it, the clutch would appear to slip occasionally. It turned out the NS drive shaft wasn't in the gearbox properly and losing drive which appeared like slipping clutch. It was finally identified as the drive shaft after on track ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Back end bouncing.
Coilovers on our terrible roads makes my moobs jiggle... I don't like em. I've driven loads of customer cars with all sorts of set ups and prefer Bilstein Blacks or standard with uprated slightly lower springs... IMO it gives the best quality ride with predictable handling. I am 40 and wear slippers...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] High first initial idle.
They DO rev to around 2k upon initial start up from cold then drop down slowly to idle speed. 5 mins seems a bit excessive but it has been pretty cold recently. It would drop quicker if the engine was driven rather than let it idle. Whats the temp gauge at when fully warmed up? Maybe the thermostat ...

Re: Clutch slipping
As a guide we charge £270 labour inc vat plus the price of the clutch usually around £100 for LUK or Exedy. Gear oil £25 ish and driveshaft seals if they are needed. Budget between £400 and £500 and you wont go far wrong.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Both headlights wont pop up
Hi, Have you sorted this yet?
The headlamp pop up relay is the blue box on RHS inside the frunk. Worth having a look inside to see if its all damp and corroded.

Can you stick some spark plug jumpers on top of the plugs and see when it appears again if you can see which one isn't lighting up?

Well finally having a moan about IMOC, After being told last year you had to be a premium member to sell stuff on here even though I was offering for free. I paid my £60 to join the Affiliate scheme on 18th Feb 2015. After emails to Peter and Mods etc still bu88er all has happened ](*,) I take it my...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Clutch change - parts required
Ahh, fair enough. Well, current plan is to just drop the whole engine. We need to do the cambelt / water pump, and it will just be easier to access everything with the engine completely out. Good plan, you will need those gaskets then! lol. Maybe a good time to replace usual oil leak seals. Dizzy O...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Clutch change - parts required
I've never had to remove the exhaust to replace a clutch on any MR2 from Mk1 to Mk3. I do have a 2 post ramp which helps with access. I don't remove the O/S driveshaft from the hub either (they can seize into the hub and be a c0ck to remove) Just undo lower ball joint and tca, pull it back outta the...
