Re: start/move car with radiator removed (few meters)
FYI, I had no issues taking the air con rad out of my car with bumper on and radiator in place. It takes a little bit of wiggling and getting the right angle to get it lifted up and out but it does come.

It's Jap clocks for sure, complete with small bit of black tape to cover the k on km/h
Thanks for the tips, I'll have a hunt around the speed sensor for it, probably the most likely as I've checked the ECU and it's as normal.

[Mk2] [Turbo] If I was an electrician, where would I put MPH converter
Hi all I've been absent from the forum for a looong time now and the MR2 has sat outside looking rather neglected, untouched for a year. Money issues and the long battle to get the Rev 3 engine working in a rev 2 body (which is still unsuccessful but an issue for another thread) meant I lost a lot o...

Seriously? That would be brilliant. I just need to try and sort a trailer out, Durham isn't too far really.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Re-pin guide for Rev 2 body loom to rev 3 ECU
Sorry for the lack of updates, been on holiday. So I've cut the earth for the starter relay and earthed it. The car now behaves correctly on the key, i.e. only tries to start when turned to start. Still no CEL though and not starting. I've been all round all the connections again and it's plugged in...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Re-pin guide for Rev 2 body loom to rev 3 ECU
OK, pull starter relay out of relay socket. Measure voltage at pins in socket with relation to chassis earth: Ignition off - pin 1 (red) and pin 3 (white/black) Ignition on (engine should not turn over) - pin 1 (red) and pin 3 (white/black) At ignition off - Pin 1 (red) is 0v, pin 3 (B&W) 0V At...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Re-pin guide for Rev 2 body loom to rev 3 ECU
Now, turn it to just ignitiom on and the starter motor keeps on cranking BUT still no CEL and no spark. So from that, we must have a live in the starter relay when it shouldn't. Any ideas anyone? Sounds like main loom earth to underside of inlet manifold not secure. Hi Peter, the main earth to the ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Re-pin guide for Rev 2 body loom to rev 3 ECU
Hoping for some help here. Swapped the rev 2 body look back in as from looking at the diagrams we found, it was going to be easier as you said Pete. Matched it up to a rev 3 loom we have to compare and think its pretty close. There is however a few wires go pins not on the diagram. Plugged it in to ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Re-pin guide for Rev 2 body loom to rev 3 ECU
Question on the FPR and RLY. The diagram seems to be for converting a full rev 2 loom to fit a rev 3 ECU. I only need to repin the body loom, so what happens with FPR and RLY that show to move between plugs? Do I just pull FPR out and put the ECO in, leaving that wire out? As the FPR wire will be th...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Re-pin guide for Rev 2 body loom to rev 3 ECU
Ok I got the diagram back to front (counting on my part would help). So, from the 2bartuning guide (http://www.2bartuning.com/#/resources-mr2/4527157490) on the 22 pin plug, I've got FPR, ECO, ABS (not needed for me as non ABS car) RLY (RLY sounds right actually as one of my faults is a faulty earth...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Re-pin guide for Rev 2 body loom to rev 3 ECU
Hi All, After a few posts on this and a few mistakes on my part, I need to repin my rev 2 body loom at the fusebox and ECU to get the car running. Told this is pretty simple but before I go swapping things around, I'd like to know exactly what I'm doing before I start (don't want to bodge up the loo...

Re: Not starting, what to check
I do somewhere, but it's 10 years since i changed a body loom as part of a conversion. Just use your Rev3 loom as a comparison and an ohmeter to work out which pins are different, and change accordingly. Gotcha, so just use the rev 2 loom out of the car to match up the rev 3 loom in the car at the ...

Re: Not starting, what to check
Gah! Changed body loom on advice from said mechanic. Do you have the diagram for the re-pin in the footwell Peter? Probably the easiest job now rather than swapping the body loom back to the rev 2 and repinning at the ECU. I do somewhere, but it's 10 years since i changed a body loom as part of a c...

Re: Not starting, what to check
Hi guys, sorry for the very late reply to this one. So, a few developments to where we are now. I ended up swapping out the passenger side loom as I still had a rev 2 and it was either repin it, or replace it for the conversion, so replaced it. I appear to have an issue with earths. I'm scratching m...

Re: Garage Clearout!!
Happen to have the plastic surround for the centre console? My cars a 92 rev 2 but obviously they'll all fit.
I fancy having a god at making my own triple gauge cluster in the centre console but want to try it on a spare centre console surround in case I get it slightly wrong first time round

Rev 2 / Rev 3 igniter cross compatible?
Hi all, So after a raft of electrical fault, starter not cranking and no CEL, while tracing the faults it seems the rev 3 turbo loom I bought has been hacked to pieces and would be a nightmare to fix, so puting a new loom in. While doing the rev 3 conversion, I had believed the rev 2 turbo igniter a...
