Chargecooler - To Expansion tank or not

Hi All, Been reading up on the expansion tank for the ST205 chargecooler and I'm a bit split on what to do. I don't have the expansion tank, it wasn't used on the setup the chargecooler came from but having read a lot about the water level loss etc. I'm now wondering if it would be worthwhile to get...

Re: Mystery hose

That looks to be the one! Thanks Jim. I'll have to double check the catch can for the third outlet. Come to think of it, I didn't really check it over, just hooked up the cam cover and inlet hose... possibly been a slight spanner!

Thanks for the help guys

Re: Mystery hose

It's on the left side of the inlet manifold, that nut you can see is the left most nut for the manifold and my finger is on the hose in question. It's just to the right of the dizzy cap. It's chunky, about 1/4" internal diameter with thick hose walls. Our VSV was already deleted on this engine,...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev3 - CT20b v CT26 hybrid v CT20b hybrid

One runs a gen3 3sgte that has a forged bottom end and 1mm oversized valves. Run by an old Link Plu ecu! Stock ct20b @ 1 bar on 95 RON fuel , intake, downpipe, exhaust, greddy copy intercooler. Puts down 291hp @ wheels. im assuming this is some sort of world record at 1bar of boost and that grade o...

Re: Mystery hose

It's not a great picture. The hose comes from the left of the inlet manifold on the block. It's fairly long, about 1' and has kinks in it that look as if it should possibly attach to something on the firewall. Problem is, the equivalent hose isn't on our rev 2 engine we took out, or at least in the ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 2 Turbo Speedo Replacement

The question is how is your current kph speedo converted to mph? If it's still the original 180kph dial and someone has simply put a bit of black tape across the "k" and it is giving your true mph, the chances are that a delimiter has been already fitted behind the dial. If the previous o...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 2 Turbo Speedo Replacement

Very helpful thread guys thank you. I'll be doing this soon as it's annoying having kph clocks converted to mph as I'm planning on going to Spa next year and I want to be able to read kph too. Guess 160mph clocks are on the christms shopping list! For the delimiter to wire in at the ECU, is it the s...

Re: What is this sensor?

I'm not sure if the vsv is interchangeable accross revisions but if it isn't just buy a gts chris boost controller for £20 :) Good call, I didn't think I'd get one that cheap, too much pining over a nice HKS one or something. Get one of those ordered tomorrow! I'll just double check the wastegate t...

Re: What is this sensor?

I'm son, I can't post pictures from work. Thanks guys, I was getting confused with that as to why the hoses were disconnected. The plug was removed as I was installing the loom yesterday. Engine and loom were split when we bought them. We don't have a boost controller, this is on our new engine (chr...

Some Questions

Hi All, Another few questions which I've tried to find answers for but can't seem to, I've probably missed them! First is the Air Con Idle Up. So far I know I can loop the 2 valves on the inlet manifold and route the petrol breather to atmosphere, but what about the third hose from the c/cannister? ...

Re: Non-LSD gearbox urgently needed! Or deal on full LSD Kit

I cant help with fixing your current box, but if you do need a non-LSD gearbox I'll have one available soon. I've not put it in the breaking section yet but I'm engine swapping my rev 2 turbo for rev 3 with an LSD, so the rev 2 non-LSD box is going to be going spare as I won't even keep it as a spar...

Good point by Mullen, did it fail marginally, or was it a spectacular fail?

Re: MOT = Fail

Being a UK spec you have much tighter regulations for emissions unfortunately unlike early imports that work to 3%. Much easier to get an import through. Ask your MOT place to do the emissions when the car is hot. A lot of places leave the car all day until they get to it's turn for an MOT, move it ...

Re: Speed flap dimensions

A standalone ECU next year will solve the PAS/limiter issue with km/h conversion How will the engine ECU solve that issue? With mph clocks, I didn't explain that properly. Mph clocks so the PAS reads correctly but a new ECU (link etc.) with no top speed limiter will solve the issue shirley? It's no...

Speed flap dimensions

Hi Folks, Working on my project over the winter and the light from end is going to be addressed. A standalone ECU next year will solve the PAS/limiter issue with km/h conversion but I'm also wanting to make up my wo nset of speed flaps. I can make them myself just from some aluminium, I just don't k...

Re: Newbie went to see Rev 5 today - advice needed!

Just walk away. A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it which some sellers seem to forget. If she won't budge then thank you for your time and walk. You'll probably find in about 3 or 4 months you'll get a phone call asking if your still interested at a slashed price as she find th...

Well if you hate your neighbours I guess the nur-spec is fine Theres also the opiton of the HKS Hi-Power, which will be a bit more reasonable on noise. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HKS-HI-POWER-409-EXHAUST-SYSTEM-TOYOTA-MR2-TURBO-/300774877413?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item46079468...
