Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil sandwich plate
I put a sandwich plate in on my gen 2 3sge a few years ago, pic below, I looked for sensor holes but I don't think there is any on the gen 2, I have oil pressure gauge and temperature sensors bolted into it, had it for years and never leaked once, just make sure the plate is done up tight and look o...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Remote start help
Just an update to this
Used the alternator for signal in the end, didn't want to use the alarms virtual tach mode as it either tends to over crank or not keep the starter on long enough got the alarm to learn a fake tach signal of the alt and all works good

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Presume this is a capacitor gone? - would it cause these issues
I recapped mine a few years ago, you can test them in circuit with an ESR meter, I had 2 gone both reading very high ESR replaced them and engine ran a lot smoother, my 2 symptoms where hot start issues and high idle every so often even after a idle valve clean.

[Mk2] [NA] Ign timing after belt change
Just replaced a timing belt on my 3sge, made sure every mark lined up and checked it several times, does a new belt slightly alter the ignition timing as I wacked the timing light on it earlier and it's only very slight out before 10' btdc but it was spot on before the belt change.
